My fingers tightened over the piece of paper while my jaw clenched. What does he think of himself?

I saw him sitting in the car with an emotionless expression.

"What the hell is this?" I said raising my voice while lifting the paper in the air.

His eyes become wide but he regained his composure. He took the paper from my hand and throw it in the back seat.

"Why you are not telling me?" I asked again as he was not uttering a single word.

"What do you want me to say? You just left me speechless," He said with frustration dripping from his voice.

"I am not going to take a cent from you," I said angrily.

When I read the whole paper, I was beyond shocked. He left a million for me. According to the papers, the millions rightfully belong to me.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked with a wave of anger laced in my tone.

"I am doing all of these for the sake of you. I just want you to have a peaceful life without taking the stress of bills and other necessities," He said turning towards me.

"I am pretty sure I have a job. And I can pay for my bills. You don't have to worry about me. Show the power of your wealth to someone who cares," I said with a scoff.

"You are so stubborn and judgemental. I am not doing this to show off anything. I am just doing for your sake. If something happens to me in the future, you will be alone. There will be no one beside you. I don't want you to face any financial crisis in the future. I just want you to have a secure future. Do you think that your friends will be there for you forever?" He told me and questioned me in the last part.

"They will always be there for me," I said in a low voice.

"Do you think so? But it's not the truth. No matter how close friends are, the moment comes when you become their second priority. They will prefer spending time with their life partners rather than hear your problems. You are not even on talking terms with your parents. If something happens to me, you will be alone," He said with a scoff.

Tears build up inside my eyes and I had a sudden urge to cry my heart out. I gulped down my unshed tears as I looked into his eyes.

"Do you expect me to be on talking terms with my parents who have slapped me and kick me out of the house? They don't even care if I am alive or not," I said wrapping my arms around myself.

"Do you have an idea what happens to your parents after you left? Your betrayal causes them to cry every single day. The hand which slapped you is paralyzed. He has a heart problem. He cries every single night for you. Your mother has a mild heart attack a few months. Her blood pressure is always unstable. No medications are helping her out. You said your parents don't love you. But they love you a lot. They miss you every single day. Their eyes are begging to see you. They don't even come out of the house. They won't come to me and request me to bring you back. But I know what they want. Your presence is what they only want. If you think that you are the only one suffering, then you are wrong," He said while I realized that my cheeks were stained with tears.

"Why no one tells me about it?" I asked while tears were flowing through my cheeks.

"I know you were in contact with Hania for a longer time. I told her not to bother you by telling it. You will be stressed and they are better now. They are just missing their daughter," He said wrapping his arms around my shoulder.

I tightly held into his shirt as my tears were falling uncontrollably. He pressed his lips on my forehead and wipes away my tears.

"Everything will be fine," He said consoling me.
