Chapter 9

Isha P.O.V

The knock on the door startled me. I push Fahad hands away and maintain a distance between us.

I saw Azman peeking his head. He came towards me and handed me a cup of coffee.

"Here is the coffee for you. I hope you will feel alright", He said with a smile.

"Thank you", I said stirring the spoon in the cup of coffee.

" Do you want anything else?" He asked politely.

"I am fine", I replied.

" I'm sure that your job is to serve coffee to the employee. So, do your work and stop staring at her. You don't have an idea what I am capable of doing if I saw you staring at her once again", Fahad snapped angrily with the anger laced in his tone.

"You can't be rude to any employee. It's unacceptable ", I said glaring at him.

" Why are you so naive? He was checking you out", He said gritting his teeth as he hands balled into a fist.

"I am sorry on his behalf. You can go now", I said to Azman because I don't want him to face Fahad's wrath.

After he went, I glare at him. He just smirked in return.

I stomped my foot angrily and went to my office.

This man is playing on my nerves.

I held my head with both hands as I was very frustrated.

" Are you fine?" I saw Adeel came into my office.

"I am not fine. I am so frustrated", I said pulling my hair in a tight grip.

" Is he your husband?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

His words make me froze. He is my best friend and he knows everything. I know that I can trust him with my secrets.

I nodded my head with a gulp.

"I knew it. I felt suspicious at first but I let it go. You don't have an idea that he was staring at you all the time", He said with an emotionless expression.

" I know. I was feeling very awkward when I met him", I said in a blank tone.

"What does he want? " He asked raising his eyebrows.

"I don't know. He is behaving very differently", I said wiggling my eyebrows.

"I hope you are not thinking of getting back with him together. He doesn't deserve a second chance", He said raising his eyebrows.

" Are you kidding me? I will not get back together with him at any cost", I said raising my voice.

"It's just that I don't want you to suffer again", He said hesitantly.

" I know. I am maintaining a distance from him but he acting very differently", I said sincerely.

"Is he bothering you?" He asked as he shot up from the seat.

"No. He is not bothering me but he is acting differently. He is purposely provoking me or doing something to get a reaction from me. I am trying my best to keep everything professional but he is not helping me", I said in a frustrated tone.

" It will be surely awkward for you no matter how much you try. And you can't keep things professional when he's your husband. You have to ignore him to make things better", He explained to me.

"But it seems hard knowing that he will surely provoke me", I said fidgeting with my fingers in nervousness.

" You used to love him. So it will be surely hard for you. But no matter what, you have to do that. You can do that. I believe you", He said smiling at me.
