Chapter 22

Paglabas nila ng family room at nakita nila si Mia, who was patiently waiting for them.
Lumapit ito sa kanila. 

Leila's mom took her hand."Mia, thank you being here for Lei. And thank you for giving us the opportunity to talk to her," Sabi Ng mommy niya.

Mia smiled." Dont worry about it Tita. Ang importante, everything is okay now. And I will
always be at here at her side Tita. We all are," sagot ni Mia smiling."In fact, the girl will be here later Lei," dagdag nito as she glance at Leila.

Tumango si Leila and smiled.

" Tito, Tita, let's have lunch. Hindi pa kumakain si Leila since this morning eh. That's why I came by to see her sa ICU," Sabi ni Mia.

Her mom and dad looked sheepishly." I'm sorry sweetheart. We didn't even think about it," his dad said apologetically.

" Oh no. It's okay dad. Don't worry about it ,"agad namang sagot ni Leila.

" Let's have lunch then,"Sabi ni Mia and took Leila's hand.

" You guys go ahead. We will go back sa ICU and see if they would let us see Troy. If not at least to your Tito Oliver and Tita Lauren,"Sabi Ng mommy ni Leila.

Liela looked at her mom and Dad." Are you sure mom?"tanong ni Mia.
Her mom smiled." Yes Iha, I'm sure ,"sagot nito." You girls, go ahead and we will go to the ICU now."
They exchanged hugs and again at nagpaalam na sina Mia at Leila.

" Do you want to me to take you out to eat or hospital cafeteria?"tanong ni Mia when they started walking.

" Cafeteria," she answered right away." I don't want to be too far in case, he wakes up.I want to be close by.Sorry Mia.......'
Mia smiled and took her arm. "Hey...... !!! No need to be sorry.  I'd figure you're going to say that," Sabi nito." Let's see how you'll like hospital food."

Despite of what and how she feels. Leila smiled.

Leila admitted that she felt better after she had lunch. She didn't realize she was that hungry. Maybe that was the reason why she didn't even care if it was hospital food.

Mia  took her mind off Troy by taking about her and Brix and update kung anong nangyayari sa iba pa nilang mgs kaibigan.

For awhile there, Leila's mind was temporarily distracted from her worries about Troy and for that she was grateful for Mia. She didn't think she needed this break but now that they had lunch and this talk, she was energized to go back to Troy again.

After lunch, she didn't  want to linger more at the cafetiriaShe went back to sit with Troy as soon as natapos siyang kumain.Nandoon pa rin ang parent ni Troy at si Terence sa family room Ng ICE but her parents were gone.
Terence was inside Troy's room. Seryoso ang mukha ni Terence na nakatingin sa kapatid.

She touched Terence arm when she got to his side.Lumingon ito sa kanya, then put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close to him and to the the bed.

Hindi nila namalayan na lumapit si Tito Oliver." Renz, Leila, can I talk to you both?" mahinang tanong ni Tito Oliver niya.

Ni hindi lumingon si Terence. " Dad, whatever you have to say can wait. Kung mag so-sorry ka sa amin, I can't accept that right now. Pray that Troy will wake up ,  because......because if he doesn't........I will never, ever forgive you," tiim-bagang sabi ni Terence. " I don't care what you do. Troy needs to be Leila, so whatever you have to say right now, doesn't mean anything to me until my brother is awake."

Tito Oliver looks defeated. He didn't say anything. Tumango lang ang ito at dahan dahan na umalis.

Leila didn't say anything. She doesn't know what to say at this time. Terence held Leila and they stood there watching Troy.

" Bro, we are here, Leila and I. I am so sorry about all of these but I got your back brother. Come back to us. Leila is here, I am here ..... we're waiting for you," he said softly to his brother as he was holding his hand." If you are tired and need to rest for bit , go ahead....but come back soon Bro....."

Leila felt crying but had to hold back the tears. Terence was stroking his brother's shoulder. They stood there for a few more minutes.

         Nang umalis na sila ay lumapit si Leila kay Troy. She leaned and kissed him lightly in his forehead and lips.

"Jake, time to wake now. Please open your eyes. I want to hear you say that you love me. I want to hear you say that I am yours,"sabi nito while stroking his head." Please wake up Love. I want to watch the sunset with you again. Wake up now,"she said tears streaming her face.

She stroked his face with her hand." Let's go back to the resort and walked in the beach again or ride the ATV," she said looking at her handsome bruised face." Or better yet, we will race to see who is the better huh! We can do whatever you want, my Jake. Just open you eyes for me baby, please."

Leila took his hand and kissed it." I will be here. I will and watch you until you open your eyes. I want you to see me as soon as you open that beautiful eyes of yours,"she said softly." I am here....always be here for you."

She sat in the chair beside the bed. She held his hand and keep on talking to him. Leila did not realized how tired and sleepy she until she just fell asleep holding Troy's hand.

Sa ganoon siya naabutan ni Mia when she went to check on her and Troy. She was having second thoughts on whether she should wake Leila up and have sleep in the family room or hayaan na lang niyang matulog ito ngayon para dire-diretso ang tulog niya.

Mia realized Leila will not leave Troy to sleep in the family room. Her heart felt pain seeing her friend like this. Hinayaan na lang niyang matulog si Leila. She went to the nurses station.

"Linda, my friend in room 3, if it is possible not to wake her up, could you guys do that.I know that's hard to do that  since your checking on the patient,"sabi ni Mia and couldnt help but glance back sa room ni Troy.

"Sige Doc, try namin.Kawawa nga po si Mam Lei eh. Halos indi umaalis sa tabi ng bed,"sabi ng nurse." Paminsan minsan , nakaka idlip siya."

Mia smiled. Kilala na ng mga nurses si Leila. She thanked them and asked if they can call her kung may changes.
