Chapter 17

 

Nagising si Leila sa isang kwarto. Hindi pamilyar sa kanya kung nasaan siya. Pinilit niyang bumangon ng bigla siyang makaramdam na masakit ang ulo niya. Bumalik siya sa pagkahiga. Pinikit niya ang kanyang mata and tried to remember kung ano ang nangyari.

Napamulat siya ng maalala niyang dinukot siya ng dalawang lalaki sa beach. Si Troy! Oh my God! I bet he didn't know what happened to me? Bakit nila ako kinuha kung wala rin naman si Terence? Did they found out too where Terence is? Nanlamig ang katawan ni Leila.

Leila got out of bed. She looked around sa loob ng kwarto. Binuksan niya ang closet and found some of her clothes. Nagulat ito. She opened the door on the far corner. It opens to a bathroom. May mga toiletries doon and fresh towel. She might as well brush her teeth and take a shower to clear her mind.And maybe it will help with her headache.

Nang makabihis na siya ay lumabas ito. The place is huge. May naamoy siya pagkain and went to look for it. Napansin niyang gutom na gutom na siya. She is so disoriented. Hindi niya alam kung gaano Siya katagal nawalan ng malay.

She continued walking and following the scent of the food. Umabot Siya sa dining room. Nadatnan niya sa dining room si Terence na kumakain ng breakfast.

Nagulat si Leila at pati na rin si Terence ng nakita siya." Lei!" sabi nito na tumayo agad at sinalubong siya." So, nahanap ka rin nila huh."

She accepted the hug that Terence gave her. She doesn't think of him anymore but an older brother "W-what.....w-what are y-you doing here?"nalilitong tanong ni Leila when the hug ended.

Inalalayan siya ni Terence na maupo sa isang dining chair. Then he sat beside her.

" Paalis na kami ni Bambi sana. But stupid me tried to go back in my place to get some of my important papers that I may need later. Natunugan yata ni Dad na may plano ako..... tayo, may naghihintay na sa akin doon. Took me by force and brought me here. I figure that they found out about you," sabi ni Terence. They must have traced all of Troy's resort and went to them one by one, looking for both of you ."

Hindi makapaniwala si Leila sa nangyayari. "Troy, didn't even know what happened. Basta na lang akong kinuha doon,"sabi ni Leila na naiiyak na." It was exactly the same as what they did to you ."

Inakbayan siya ni Terence." Bambi doesn't know either. Baka nga akala non ay nagbago ang isip ko,"he sighed. He sound so depressed kagaya ng pakiramdam ni Leila.

Leila was shaking her head." Are they these desperate for us to get married? I never thought Dad would do this" nanlulumong sabi ni Leila." Not in a million years."

" Me too Lei. I never thought Dad could do this. I think it more of power trip or pride now. O baka naman dahil sinuway natin sila,"sabi ni Terence na nalulumo." Or maybe because we had that stupid engagement party and they have announced it to the whole world and ayaw  nilang mapahiya."

"At our expense ..... so What now?"tanong ni Leila looking at Terence." Anong gagawin natin?"

" I don't know. All I know is they wanted to have this marriage as soon as possible,"he said and took a deep breath.

Lalong na depressed si Leila and started crying." Would it even be possible if we are not going to sign that marriage license? Can we just leave here?" sabi ni Leila." Or are they going to force us to sign?"

Terence held her hand." There are guards outside. I saw them when I tried to open the front door. Plus, my Dad planned to asked one of his kumpare who's a judge to do it instead of church like they originally planned,"sabi nito." That is what I heard."

" God! Kidnapped by our own parents? Can we not report this or something?"sabi ni Leila crying and so frustrated. She didn't know what to do. She was thinking of Troy. How would he feel when he realized that she was gone.

" There is no phone anywhere," panlulumong sabi ni Terence."In the meantime, we are in house arrest."

Leila stopped crying and turned at Terence. " How will they make us sign the contract ?"

"I'm sure they will think of something to blackmail us with," sagot ni Terence.

" Kuya Renz, What If we go through the marriage and have it annulled later?"sabi ni Leila sounding desperate ." I mean, I know that will be weird but ......what choice do we have?"

He took another deep breath and thought about it."We can certainly do that. I don't know if Bambi will wait for me til we can have it annulled and I know what Troy would do," he said and sighed.

Leila touched his arm." Kuya. don't think that way. Ate Bambi May surprise you .I saw you two together . I know she loves you so much," assure ni Leila.

Terence looked at her and smiled." Now, I see how why Troy loves you ,"was his response.

She smile despite of how bad she feels. They were quiet for a bit  and both were in deep thought.

" Hey, eat first. Malamang wala kang ganang kumain but try. I don't want you to get sick. Para kahit papano, I can take care of you for Troy,"sabi ni Terence and pilit itong ngumiti.

Tama si Terence. Wala ngang ganang kumain si Leila pero pinilit niya. Just in case she needs her energy to escape.
Wow! , she thought.Escape. She never knew this would have a different meaning to her. Her life turned into a teleserye.

They spent the whole day planning and finding ways para hindi matuloy ang kasal pero wala silang concrete na plano.
They went through every room and area of the house to see if there is a way that they could escape.
Napagod lang sila pero ni isang possibility ay Wala silang nakita o nahanap.
Walang phone sa loob Ng bahay. Kinuha rin ang mga cellphone nila bago sila dinala dito.
The only consolation that they have was the plan that they could always dissolve their marriage when the time comes .
It wasn't very reassuring to both of them but that was only thing that gave them hope.
