chapter 7 - countdown

The countdown, four days in the hospital already and three days left to go before she gets out of the hospital wing of The Avengers Facility. She wasn't leaving completely she just gets a room near all the other Avengers. At the Barton household shes to far away from a hospital and they have three kids, also she has better security at the facility.

In the past four days, she has seen Clint twice, and has seen at least all of the Avengers once. Lennox gets visits from Nat and Steve everyday sometimes more than once. The Toy story references are still going and neither Steve nor Lennox are planning on stopping. Amara and Natasha keep Lennox entertained by talking to her about anything they can. Amara rants about anything she can, or looks through magazines with Lennox. Natasha talks about all of the Avengers and her favorite memories of them. Lennox now knows about how Steve said "Language" and she can't stop making fun of him.

Lennox has gained almost two pounds, she is proud of herself and is going to continue to keep going. Wanda had encouraged her, she knew how to make the Barton sibling fell better. She feels better about her body but she still has a negative look on herself, all she wants to do is go for a run but Amara said it wasn't a good idea. So today Steve is going on a run with Lennox to make sure she doesn't pass out.

When Steve came to get Lennox to go on their run she was wearing a black tank top over a black sports bra and that was paired with gray shorts. Her hair was in a high ponytail and she wore her gray sneakers. They headed outside the facility and started jogging, the weather was a little breezy but the sun was out.

"Do you want to slow down the pace?" Steve asked looking at the physically and mentally exhausted female. Lennox caught her breath and shook her head no, she wanted to run off her pain even if it was causing physical pain this was for her mental pain.

"You have a horrible taste in running music, buzz."Lennox chuckled lightly at the music playing.

"I usually don't listen to music when i run, Woody. Change it then." He handed his phone to the female.

"I haven't listened to good music in eleven years how would i know what to put on." Lennox shot back, picking music was a lot of pressure to the girl. They ran on the trails around the Avengers facility.

"We are listening to this music, i don't know what to put on." Steve said, "Are you sure you don't want to walk for a moment?"

"Why are you tired?" Lennox asked, looking over to the man next to her. He was all sweaty in his gray shirt, his muscles were showing, and his hair was messy, Lennox's heart jumped at the sight of the man so she turned her head back foreword.

"No, you look a bit pale and Amara said we should walk if you look pale."

"I don't know about you, but i don't usually follow rules. Try to keep up, Steven." She taunted picking up her pace as Steve followed. Her breath was heavy, her forehead was sweaty, and she her face was flushed. Even though Steve was worried for the girls health he just couldn't help but to take in her beauty and fun spirit, it was so different than the first day he met the girl.

"We are walking." Steve stated, Lennox groaned and slowed down her pace making the spinning feeling stronger. "I got you." He said quickly catching Lennox as she passed out. He carried the brunette the whole way back to the facility walking swiftly to Dr. Fosters wing. "You are going to be okay, you are stronger than anyone i've ever met." Steve whispered to her as they entered the doctors ward.

"Oh for heavens sake! Lenna, can you hear me?" Amara pushed the gurney over to Steve, once Steve lied her down she flashed the light into her eyes. "She'll be okay, let's get some fluids and nutrition into her." Dr. Foster told her nurse.

After about 30 minutes of Lennox being unconscious she woke up, she scrunched her face as the harsh light shined down on her.

"How do you feel?" Steve asked from beside her, he was sitting on the chair next to her. She turned her head to look at him.

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure? Let me go get Amara." He frantically said.

"No, i'm fine. I have you right now, Buzz." She sent a small thankful smile towards Captain America, "I knew i was going to pass out i felt it."

"Why didn't you say anything?" questioned Steve, he was mad that she didn't say anything because she wanted Lennox to get better but if she doesn't say anything it will only get worse.

"I was having fun, for the first time in eleven years i felt alive and free." Her voice croaked from being unconscious for a while. "Plus, i had a attractive man to catch me." She said, not realizing what she just said, Steve blushed slightly at her comment.

"You have to tell someone if you feel like you are going to pass out." Steve snapped, he stopped thinking about her comment. "Just please, we need you to get better because you deserve to feel free and alive. I'm going to see how Wanda and Nat are doing, they are decorating your new room." Steve smiled weakly before leaving the room, he sent Amara in there.

"I told you, you need to speak up about how you are feeling." Amara reprimanded her best friend, her protective side for Lenna came out.

Lennox didn't respond, she just kept replaying Steve's words "You deserve to feel free and alive." She didn't feel like she deserved it, she yearned for that feeling but she didn't deserve it. The girl who was named after a dragon who spit fire and did harm, she killed people how could someone like her deserve to feel happy. People like Amara, Clint, Steve and the rest of the Avengers should have happiness not Lennox. She wanted happiness, who doesn't but how could she achieve happiness.

"Okay, i'll leave you in your silence but you have therapy later. The lady is nice, and really good at her job just give her a chance." Amara said before leaving the room and closing the glass sliding doors.

The first therapy session, it was a hard fight for Lennox actually to show up. She didn't want the ladies help, Dr. Paige was patient with the impatient Lennox Barton. They started by talking about Lennox's childhood, it took twenty minutes to get Lennox to actually speak and not scowl at the doctor. For the next forty minutes they only talked about her early ages of life, Dr Paige didn't want to pressure the female. She needed Lennox to feel comfortable talking to her.
