Betty's POV
I've just woken up as I go to bathroom to take a quick shower before I meet my friends. When I hop out of the shower I hear a knock at the door. I quickly throw on some pants and a t-shirt before I open the door. When I open the door I see my best friend Veronica lodge standing in the doorway.
V: "hello beautiful!"
Veronica says while walking into the living room, well if you can call it that. I live in a trailer on a trailer camp. It's not much but I love living there.
V: "so what are you gonna wear for your first date ever!"
She says excitedly
B: "well I don't know I mean it's Malachi! He's like the most popular guy on the southside I have to wear something nice for him right?"
I say nervously. Malachi is the current leader of the serpents and the most popular guy in town. For some reason he asked me out, and I've liked him since I don't even know how long!
Veronica gives me a black top with fishnets and shorts and some black dr martens.
V:"here, put this on."
I change into the clothes and put on some make-up.
V: "perfect! You look absolutely gorgeous!"
B: "perfect!"
I look at the time and see that I'm almost late, so I say goodbye to Ronnie and hop on my motorbike.
Later
I arrive at pops and look at the booths when I lock eyes with Malachi, he smiles and waves me over
M: "well hello, hello, hello. I'm glad you finally decided to show up. Normally I don't like waiting, but this is a special occasion."
He says a little threatening but in a way that it's also kinda cute.
B: "well I like being fashionably late for my dates."
I smile and sit down in the booth
M: "well, I'm sorry to tell you but this isn't a date..."
B: "I- uhm.. sorry then why did you ask me to come here?"
M: "I wanted to ask you something."
He looks kind of intimidating and a little bit sad or something, I can't really point out what exactly
M: "I'm stepping down as serpent king."
I am shocked and I'm speechless. He is the best serpent king there has ever been why would he want to resign?!
B: "I'm sorry what? You can't step down! Who is gonna lead the serpents?"
M: "that's why you are here. I want you to be the new leader of the serpents."
I can't believe what Malachi just said. I mean I must be dreaming right? But no this was real, Malachi asking ME to be the serpent queen!
B: "I- wait are you for real? Of course I would want to rule the serpents! It's been my dream since I have joined them! Omg I won't disappoint you!"
Malachi chuckles while I'm freaking out in front of him
M: "hold on not so fast. For you to be serpent queen you have to do 3 tasks. Each task will be harder. Are you ready for it?"
B: "yes!"
I said as convincing as possible while on the inside I'm doubting every single one of my skills
B: "I promise I will not disappoint you."
