Alone

      Waking up the next morning to a pink haired Topaz beside me made me smile. I saw that she was still asleep so I let her sleep and got up to start getting ready for the day. The thought of Daniel randomly came into my mind but I brushed the thought of him away. I went into the bathroom to take a shower. After the shower, I picked a black buttoned crop top and a pair of ripped jeans. For shoes, I of course went with my white sneakers. For hair, I did a half up half down style with braids and buns on the top of my head. "Ali?"

     I turned around to see my sleepy girlfriend looking at me. "Good morning, Topaz." I went over to the bed and kissed her forehead. She pulled me to her and kissed me. I kissed back and smiled into the kiss. I pulled away, "Come on sleepyhead, it's time to get up." She groaned and stretched. 

     "Fiinneeee." She got out of the bed and I sat up. 

    "Did you bring any clothes with you last night?" She shook her head in the middle of a yawn.

    "No, I did not." 

    "Okay, you can borrow some of mine." I picked an outfit for her and she went to put it on. It was a pair of black ripped jeans, a white spaghetti strap crop top and she had her combat boots. It went great with her jacket as did my outfit. When she came out, I smiled. "You look good." She smiled back and we went to the kitchen where my family was. "Good morning, family."

    Jug looked at me and Toni. "Good morning to you two." 

     "Good morning, everyone." Toni spoke up.

   "Yeah, good morning. Now let me wake up." My dad responded to us and went back to drinking his coffee. I went to the coffee machine and made my own cup. I sat down at the kitchen table beside my dad and started drinking my cup. Toni sat down between me and Jug. 

     "So anything new happening today?" I asked, trying to make conversation with the people around me. 

     "Not that I'm aware of, but school is starting soon so we should probably go." Jug stood up, ready to go. I was next to stand up and I put my hand out for Toni to take. She took it and we all went to our bikes to head to Riverdale High. 

    When we got there, I saw Daniel and Veronica walking into the school. They saw me and Daniel walked over to me. Veronica continued walking while glaring at him and in my direction. What was happening? "Alissa, can I talk to you?" 

    "Why?"

    "Please, it's important." I sighed and stepped away from everyone and went with Dani. 

   "What is important?"

   "Betty and Veronica are planning something against you. That's what they were talking about when you and your friend came over there. Veronica is going to be mad at me for telling you but it really didn't feel right to me." He was talking really fast, but I didn't believe him.

    "I don't believe you, Daniel. Why would V want to hurt me?" 

    "Because she doesn't like that you ditched us. I mean, I don't like it either but I understand why you did it. You found your family. And that's great, Alissa."

    "You're right, I did find my family. But it doesn't sound like V to not understand. Betty is out to get me so I believe you about that part, but not V." 

    "I know, I get why you don't believe me. But I promise you I'm telling you the truth." He grabbed my hand. "And I'm sorry for ever hurting you. I know you had feelings for me, and I had feelings for you. I don't know why I got back with Veronica when you were the one I really wanted." I fought my tears back and pulled my hand away from him. I looked down.
