𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐊𝐋𝐘 walking to the front gate, Monet and Noah immediately switched into gear. The guards threw each of them a bulletproof vest as Noah spoke, "Any updates?"

"Got a lot of rovers pushing the border, up to a dozen, maybe more. Angelo's getting updates from his sister on her movement with her team, as well as Mack and West moving to Leyton soon. The walkers in the area are building up fast." the guard relayed, as Noah tightened the straps of his vest with hastily experience then aided Monet with hers.

"Get the lookouts to start clearing it out, our teams will meet them in the middle. We gotta cut it down before they get anywhere near. Are the rovers set?" he responded, taking the sheaths of daggers and attaching them to his holster. Monet tightened a long dagger onto her thigh, before getting herself comfortable with the assault rifle she was handed.

"Everything's set. You lot have twenty minutes." Tobi shouted from the guard post, throwing down the keys to the rover. Noah caught them and wished them luck, taking his own rifle and walking with Monet to their bulletproof rover.

They climbed in, putting on their seatbelts. Monet took a deep breath, finally noticing Noah glancing at her. He gave her a reassuring smile, squeezing her gloved hand, "You okay?" he quizzed.

"Yeah. I just want it all to be over, so I can finally be happy too." she answered, lifting the back of his hand to her lips. He melted into a grin at the small gesture.

"We'll be okay, Mo. I'll make sure of that." He stroked the fabric of her gloves, as he spoke his promising words, she smiled, relaxing a little into her seat. Noah started the ignition and drove through the large gate.

Parking the rover down a secluded street, the team climbed out and strategically moved towards the rendezvous point, it was better that they avoided attracting more attention of the walkers in the vicinity; any of the dead that they spotted, they killed.

Emerging from an alleyway, Noah signalled to halt, taking a look around the area and scanning the windows of the buildings. He took a few steps forward and waited. At an instant, an arrow zoomed past his right ear and struck the brick wall, it splintered and fell to the ground.

Noah furrowed his brows and followed the direction of the arrow to the rooftop window of one of the buildings, finding Angelo cheekily saluting. The team moved into the open, as Angelo made his way out onto the street. "About time you got here, should I even ask what held you up?" he scoffed, as he approached Noah and Monet who placed herself beside him. She inadvertently cleared her throat at his exasperated words, as Noah simply dismissed the question and floating thoughts of their intimacy as he pulled down his black mask and rested his rifle on his shoulder.

"What's the ETA?" he questioned.

"The horde is a good few minutes away due west, we need an extra hand from your team. For Mackenzie and West, we've got about twenty minutes; so we have to be quick." Angelo informed, Noah nodded, looking down at Monet.

"You got the horde?" she nodded firmly and he grinned, "fall back if anything goes left." She fell into his chest as he hugged her, and gently kissed him back when he pecked her lips. "Be careful."

"Of course," she reassured, striding off and rounding up her half of the team.

Noah returned his gaze to Angelo once Monet and the team had begun heading in the direction of the horde. The Valtan leader held a wide smirk that made Noah scowl, "Cute shit. You really should be thanking me."
