𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐓 awoke just after noon for the third time this week. She'd struggled to gain her energy back from the operation and she was quite glad that she still had the chance to sleep in. Westley was gone, as usual. Monet would just have save her plan to slit his throat while he slept for the next night.

She was still fairly new at Everwinter and she wasn't actually sure what she should be doing, or what could even be done. She decided the best she could do was explore outside the walls, to revisit her home city once more. But when she reached the gate and was told that she wasn't allowed to be out of her brother's sight, she almost sliced the guard's head off.

"That makes no sense, he's barely ever with me, I'm just going for some scouting." she whined.

"Well, your brother doesn't want you where it isn't safe, Noah agreed with him as well,"

Monet pulled a face. "Then where is my brother?"

The guard didn't say much else while he tried to get a hold of anyone on the radio. The only person that replied was Murphy.

He arrived at the gates shortly after. "Aight, what's up, Tobi?" he said, after greeting both of them.

"I just want some fresh air outside," Monet stated.

"Is there not air here?" Tobi grunted.

"Outside the walls, you crackhead,"

"This place is big enough that you don't need to—"

"Okay, both of you, shut the fuck up. Monet, West is outside the walls right now with Mack and doesn't even want you out of Everwinter," Murphy crossed his arms.

"Exactly!" Tobi boasted, and Murphy humbled him with a hand to his face.

"That's so dumb, he's not even here!" she kissed her teeth.

"Yeah, yeah, I know, they said they won't be long. But if you're so desperate to go out, then I'll escort you, and I'll chat to him about that for you," he compromised, Monet smiled and nodded, making Tobi groan. "It's no stress, fam, just open the gate—and tell your marj I said hi, I'll bring you lots some produce after your shift," he patted Tobi's cheeks and walked out with Monet.

She didn't really have a direction for where she wanted to go but she thanked Murphy regardless.

"It's no problem, West is just scared, I guess, we've been on edge for a while now." he shrugged.

   "Is it that Angelo guy?"

Murphy uneasily laughed, "Yeah. It's been two years since we've heard from him, so we're just preparing for the worst right now."

"What happened? Noah said that he's out for his head,"

"In a sense. He... killed to protect the community, even though it wasn't the most moral way to do it. There were about seven or eight casualties, it just so happened that one was Angelo's mum, and this kid, Joseph, Noah executed his dad."

Murphy fell silent, hoping Monet would have anything to say, but she was silent. They walked for another minute and headed in the direction of Olympic Park. Noah was right, the ArcelorMittal Orbit was a red pile of rubble.

"Noah is regretful, of course, but we don't actually know what Angelo's planning, and he's literally in North West London, so you can understand Noah's paranoia and pressure." he shrugged.

"Wow." was all Monet could say.

"Yeah," Murphy sighed, realising how tense that made the air. He changed the topic and began asking more about Monet, while they walked through the park and reached a line of abandoned shops.
