Once Sirius and Juliet had ran off, presumably somewhere more private we all decided to discuss theories
"So where'd you think they've gone?" James askedMarlene looked sour, like she'd just inhaled about 50 Honeydukes sour snakes.
"Who?" Lily asked
"Sirius and Juliet, Evans, do you live under a rock?"
"Is there something going on between those two?" Lily asked
"Oh please, her?" Marlene muttered sourly,
"Marley calm down" I told her
"thats supposed to be me." Marlene said sourly
I shrugged, Everyone in this room knew what she was talking about, I wasn't sure if Juliet did though.
"Sirius just doesn't like you that way Marlene"
"How come he slept with me then" she complained
I laughed. This girl needed to stop dreaming, just because people always expected a relationship from them didn't mean it was ever going to happen.
"Sirius does a lot of things without reason, he's impulsive, he gets bored easily" I explained.
"Ridiculous" she muttered
Sirius and Juliet came through the portrait hole, Juliet was smiling widely and even Sirius looked happy, but that was probably due to the prominent bruises he'd most definitely created down the girls neck.
"Remus! You should've seen the fireworks from the astronomy tower! It was so cool"
"I'm sure it was Jules"
Marlene and Lily had gone up to bed right after they'd arrived, I'd assumed Lily wanted to get Marlene out of there as fast as possible before she noticed anything peculiar.
That just left myself, James and a passed out Peter along with Juliet and Sirius
Sirius sat down next to James and tilted his head back of exhaustion
Juliet sat down next to me, throwing her legs over mine.
I don't know how long we stayed like that, just talking as if nothing else mattered, as if we all had forgotten that a war was brewing around us.
But it was good, Juliet had made a lot of things good, she made Sirius a new kind of insane, the type of insane that now relied on the fact that he cared now about someone other than himself. She'd brought along a new perspective to our friend group with her odd accent and opinions and frankly, I was glad that we could still do this, still sit and listen to the fire laying our heads on each other's.
I knew it would not last forever
It was not a pessimistic thought, only a realistic one.——————————

When the air got really cold in December, I spent the majority of my time in the library with Remus.
Sirius and James didn't dare step foot in there, they were always off doing something stupid which angered me slightly.
Those two didn't know how to be mature, but who was I to tell them how to be?
One afternoon after potions Professor Slughorn approached me, I was confused to say the least, he always sort of gave me a bad vibe. He was a power hungry man with not enough power to do anything himself, so he always insisted students to be his power.
