Dangerous Animagus (Drarry)

Chapter 23

Draco's POV

I was sitting at the witness's chair, Scorpius sitting on my lap while Harry sat on a chair a few feet away from us.

"Why is this boy even here?" Umbridge asked, pointing a finger at me, her nails decorated with an horrid pink color matching her outfit putting an expression of disgust on my face.

"Because he is a witness" The Minister replied lazily.

"But he is a death eater" she exclaimed outraged.

"He is still a witness and a victim, Dolores. Please, have some manners." he said and she shut her mouth, sitting back down on her seat while she glared heavily at me.

"Alright," the man said, looking down at his files. "Mr Harry James Potter, you are accused of murder on a death eater, crime that took place two days ago at 9AM. Do you deny it ?" he asked Harry, looking at him over his glasses. The man didn't seem to have any desire to be here and put Harry through this trial but he didn't have a choice. Harry killed someone and it wasn't under the circomstances of the war so he couldn't be excused for this one.

"No" Harry replied with a blank face, he already knew that it would be pointless to deny the facts when there was an entire school that had witnessed everything.

"I would like to hear what happened exactly" He demanded, folding his arms lazily over his chest, sitting there as if he couldn't be bothered to sit here for another hour.

"The man, as you said, was a death eater and entered the school ground as a new teacher. He has been bothering Draco since the very first day he arrived. He would follow him and threaten him as he cornered Draco in empty corridors. That in itself is not what a teacher is supposed to be doing to his students. Two days ago, Lucius Malfoy, Draco's father, came to school and started to ask very personal questions to Draco even though he had no say in his son's life since the day he signed the divorce papers Narcissa Malfoy sent him and Draco left the Malfoy Manor to live with his mom. Lucius started to threaten Draco that he would hurt Scorpius, a child, if he kept refusing to answer his questions. I decided to step in and stop him but Lucius casted a spell at me and then ordered the death eater to curse Draco with the crutiatus curse. I transformed into my wolf and fought against them." Harry explained and I was surprised that he knew about the guy cornering me in the corridors. He had never spoke a word about it.

"But why would you step in and defend Mr Malfoy here?" The minister asked. "I am well aware that you defeated the darkest wizard, Mr Potter and even though I heard rumors saying you two were now friends I still doudt this is enough of a reason to kill a man."

"Draco Malfoy is not my friend and never will be." He replied earning confused glances.

"So the rumors are false then" The man said while Umbridge was arboring a smirk.

"They are, indeed" Harry said "because Draco Malfoy is not my friend, he is my mate." Gasps were heard, echoing in the room as whispers rised. 

"Oh" the man said with raised eyebrows in astonishment at the turn of events. "I heard that you had turned into a wolf before killing the death eater but I didn't want to believe such accusations." he added, shaking his head slightly as if disappointed in Harry. "You are not registered as an animagus Mr Potter, you can have serious problems because of this and even more considering the position you are in right now." I gulped nervously, scared that they would lock Harry up in a cell for merlin knows how long and that I would be left alone.

"I apologize for that, Minister" Harry said, quietly. The man lifted his hand and did a quick motion, indicating that it didn't matter for now.

"So, back to the main topic here" he said, clearing his throat slightly. "if I understand correctly, your mate and what I presume is your son," he said waiting for him to confirm and continued speaking when he got a nod from Harry. "were both being threatened by the father of Mr Malfoy. You then got angry and gave in into your instincts when Mr Malfoy was hit with the cruciatus curse. Is that right?" he asked and once again Harry nodded. "They kept on threatening your family even after you transformed and that is when you attacked?"
