Ash has always been alone, particularly because he lived alone on an island with all the legendary Pokemon's that exist. He didn't mind at all that no one visited him, in fact being with Pokemon made him happy. The Pokemon are his family and he will...
"Why don't you explain to us how you know about Gladion? We've never mentioned him." Sophocles asked while scratching his chin curiously. His partner sparking in electricity and Pikachu snarled at him, walking on Ash's shoulder to lay on the nape of his neck and watched the trainers carefully.

"The Pokemon told me. Stop stalling." Ash snapped impatiently. The blonde haired boy grinned.
'Pikachu your trainer speaks our language? That's unbelievable!' Primarina clapped her paws together in excitement.
"So you can talk to pokemon-"
"If you don't explain to me right now who this person is...!" Ash appeared in front of Sophocles who whimpered at his terrifying presence full of malice.
"Then I will force it out of you." Ash declared dangerously and his red eyes looked down at the boy as he was looking down like an insect. Sparks barely noticeable of green flickered in his eyes. But nobody could notice that.
"Calm down Ash, I'm sure he was just curious so please be patient with them." Nila spoke up at the right time with his hand on his shoulder. The mad look disappeared from his eyes, he looked over his shoulder to the blue haired who was giving him a small smile with Rockruff hanging on his head.
"If you say so." He muttered calmly and everybody sighed in relief. Including Kukui they all absolutely felt that intense amount of power. But Ash has been missing for many years so it was no wonder he changed so much.
"L-let me explain." Kukui stepped up and under the shadows Lily tsks in annoyance. She wanted to spend more time with Ash but her brother was all in his head again.
"G-Gladions was a close friend of yours. Upon meeting you were rivals in battle but outside of it you were friends." He explained and Ash married his eyes suspiciously.
"That's not all is it?" Kukui swallowed the lump in his throat as he was hoping for Ash to believe that. There was just some things he didn't want to tell him.
"I-I really don't know if there was anything between you, if it were just mere friendship or something more. Last time you two were together you two were still friends." Kukui said honestly and Ash could feel it in his voice but he knew that this wasn't the whole truth.
"I believe you." Kukui smiled in relief.
"So where did you travel to this time Ash? Huh?" Mallow asked eagerly as she clung onto his arm.
