Ethereal = Venti x Reader

Poem.

I can't hear a thing. All I see is a dark void, basically nothing. It feels so cold in here.. Is this what death feels like? This is torture. Then, I see a bright light. Am I going to heaven or hell? Who knows. I lived my best life, made friends..? Ah, I consider them as my friends, and I also fell in love. Too bad I couldn't grow up and have a husband or a wife, or have kids, or have a dog, or have a pet hamster named-

"D..a.. F....e..n..?? H..3II0...?..?"

What..? Please shut up.

"H..ll...o?"

Is this lord barbatos?

"Ea..th t.. Y/..!"

The voice is becoming more clearer now.

"Earth to Y/N!" A voice boomed, I quickly cover my ears. I slowly open my eyes and saw the bard who was looking down on me. Was I on a bed? Why do the sides of my stomach feel sore? I am really confused. I touch the area that hurt me.

"Ouch!" I yelped, the bard took my hand and squeezed it.

"Don't do that. But, it looks like you're alright.. phew. So, how are you feeling?" Venti asked, the girl replied.

"I feel.. fine.. I suppose. This one area on my body really hurts though. What happened to me?" She asked as she looks up at the bard.

"You were shot by arrows, a ton of them," Venti looked away, "I'm sorry that you got hurt. ...I —I should've been looking after you, not to play with you. I thought.. you were going to die on me."

The girl had a sad smile on her face, "but, I'm alive right? All thanks to you, you saved my life."

Venti giggled softly, "Hehe, yeah.."

It was silent for a few minutes, just observing the clean white space.

"Where are we?" Y/N asked.

"We're at the cathedral, and the magnificent singer, Barbara, healed you." Venti replied, "You sound tired, hmm.. rest up lovely pianist! Our adventures can wait til you're all healed up!" He exclaimed.

"...okay.." the injured girl sighed and closed her eyes. She couldn't sleep and was awake again.

"Can't sleep? Ah! I'll play you a tune, but it'll cost you an apple. Haha! Just kidding, the price for you my friend is precisely 0 Mora! What a great deal don't you think?" He took out his lyre and started to play a song that he and the pianist once played before. The girl hummed happily and so did the bard.

"Quite a performance there. We make a great duet!" The boy chirped, the girl nodded.

"Mhm.." she yawned, "I'll go sleep now..one more question.. how long have I been asleep?"

"You ask too many questions! Promise that this is the last one?" He raised an eyebrow, Y/N nodded her head very fast.

"Okay! So, you were asleep for 2 days straight—No, 1 and a half days to be precise! You were sleeping for so long and that made me worried! I'm glad you're awake now." He said, his voice sounding more quieter than usual.

"I see..sorry that I kept you waiting.." She shifted to the side, "Ow."

"Be careful." Venti whispered, "I'll play a lullaby for you til you sleep!" He played on his lyre again. 3 whole songs and he could hear the girl snore peacefully. He couldn't help stare at her for a while.

"Poor girl. She has to deal with a ton of painful things... such as me and the pain from the arrows.. other than that.. Y/N looks so peaceful now.." Venti muttered and gently pat her head which made her smile, "She must really enjoy head pats, like a puppy! Uh.. I shouldn't really compare her to an animal.." An idea sprung into Venti's head. Yes! Perfect.
