Wings of Fire: The Call of Skyfall [1]

Chapter 10

The soldiers were attacking the civilians, and capturing them, they were even stabbing some with their tails. A few trees were set on fire, and Sandstorm sat on the very rock that Siren, Shardseeker, and the Season Sisters were. 

The forest had been set ablaze. Snowy burst through the window, shattering it, then and used her frostbreath on the burning trees, putting them out. She was then attacked by two adult soldiers. Snowy managed to flee from the unfair fight.

Shardseeker was visibly stressed. Siren saw Leafy dart out of the open window and immediately attacked a soldier. Leafy was getting attacked from all angles, she fought hard. 

Sandy hurried through the window to help Leafy out. They fought the soldiers. Rainy went out there to help them.

Siren reached the broken glass window, but she felt her tail being gently pulled. Siren looked back and saw Shardseeker staring at her. "Stay safe,— okay?" He said as he twined his tail around hers. Siren smiled and said "I'll be fine, don't worry." She flew off, leaving Shardseeker in the room.

The night was coming, and the sunset colors filled the sky. The sun was setting on the horizon. Siren flew towards Sandstorm and camouflaged. 

"I will take this island as my kingdom. I will start a war between the tribes, then when the tribes are weak, I will take over every tribe, and have constant servants, and loyal dragons." Sandstorm said with a snicker. 

"But, ma'am— don't you think you will become soulless and evil when you use all of your powers?" A smaller,  feeble-looking female Sandwing dragonet said in a worried tone. 

"Fennec, I am already ruthless, what do you think will happen?" Sandstorm replied with a stern, low tone. 

"Nothing will happen to you..." Fennec said as she; the pale Sandwing slouched. 

"Good, now go take over that tree-like castle." Sandstorm said as she made a handful of soldiers follow Fennec.

Siren got in front of Sandstorm and went visible. Siren was angry, her scales were red. "How could you harm a bunch of innocent dragons?!" Siren roared. Sandstorm looked annoyed. Siren saw Sandstorm thinking. 

"If you refer to me as Queen Sandstorm and join my side and be loyal to me and obey me, I will spare you and your friends. Your life will be the second  best life in all of Pyrrhia." Sandstorm offered. 

Siren thought about it for a moment. "No, you're evil, and you will just kill me anyway!" Siren boomed. 

Sandstorm hissed. "Well then, you shall die alone." Sandstorm said as a soldier kept Siren's snout shut, and held her tight. Siren saw that all of her friends but Shardseeker were captured. "Guards, throw them off the cliff." Sandstorm said as she slithered off. The guards clamped their wings and flew to the edge.

Siren and the Season Sisters were carried to the edge of Skyfall. The guards hissed at them and threw them off one by one. Siren tried to flap her wings, but they were bound together, so they couldn't flap. Siren and her friends fell through the clouds and towards the sea.
