Wings of Fire: The Call of Skyfall [1]

Prologue

Siren, Snake, and Blueberry slept in their den with their mother, Rose. Rose is a 33 year old female Rainwing. She has beautiful blue scales and white horns with a light green underbelly. Snake is a male Rainwing dragonet with a pattern of green and blue, with a grey tail fading into white. Siren is a vibrant female Rainwing dragonet, with light blue as her primary color with white horns and wings. She had light purple inside of her wings and frill.

Suddenly, Rose heard wingbeats in the distance. She hid her dragonets underneath her wing. There was a Nightwing as huge as Morrowseer that landed on a platform near her den. Rose pushed her dragonets deeper in the den. Blueberry woke up. Blueberry is a dark blue Rainwing with light green as her secondary color. Blueberry asked her mother "What's happening?". The Nightwing heard her and walked closer to the den. Rose hid Snake, Siren, and almost hid Blueberry before it was too late.

The Nightwing looked down onto Rose and Blueberry. With pity, he sighed and grabbed Blueberry. Rose held onto her child with all of her might. "Why are you taking my child!?" Rose yelled.

"For classified reasons." The Nightwing grunted. Rose tried to spit her venom onto the Nightwing, but the Nightwing ducked and it missed. Rose flew up to the Nightwing's face and tried to get Blueberry from his talons but the Nightwing shook her off. "That's enough from you.." The Nightwing growled.

He slammed Rose onto the ground and held her there. Rose could barely breathe. She bit the Nightwing's talons, but it didn't leave a scratch. "Let Blueberry go and you can kill me." Rose pleaded. 

"I would agree to this, if we didn't need a Rainwing dragonet," The Nightwing huffed. "But you are getting in my way."

The Nightwing started to huff up air. Siren and Snake woke up. Siren started to walk out to see where her mother was. Snake grabbed Siren by the tail and pulled her back in. "Shh" He whispered. The Nightwing had his fire ready to blow onto Rose. "You don't have to kill me!" She roared. The Nightwing blew his fire onto Rose, and held her tight to the ground. Blueberry, Siren, and Snake started to cry. Snake held Siren's snout closed.

Blueberry spat her venom near the Nightwing's eye, but it missed and hit his ear. "AHHH!" He roared "YOU LITTLE-" He dropped Blueberry and stopped breathing his fire onto Rose. Blueberry checked on Rose. Rose had burns all over her. Blueberry checked her pulse, and heard nothing. Blueberry was speechless, and lightheaded.

The Nightwing was angry at Blueberry. Blueberry looked back at the Nightwing. He grabbed Blueberry and snapped her neck. Siren started to cry as she saw the dead bodies of her mother and sister.

The Nightwing looked over to her in the den. Snake got in front of her. "Well, I need another Rainwing dragonet since I killed the other one." The Nightwing growled.

"I won't let you take my sister," Snake hissed. "You can take me instead."

The Nightwing shrugged, grabbed Snake, and flew away. Siren was all alone now, and she had nobody to accompany her. Then, a Nightwing dragonet flew down from the top of a tree.

"I'm sorry that happened.." He sighed. "I would have helped you if I weren't so scared." Siren looked up and tilted her head. "It's not your fault." She squeaked. "I'm Siren." She held her paw out. 

"I'm Shardseeker." They shook each other's claws. "C'mon, let's go find you a new place to stay." He smiled. Siren smiled and flew off to find a new den.
