"Remus! Hold on! You're gonna make us spill our drinks!"
"Come on Emo!"
Virgil laughed as Remus pulled him along at a fast pace, the only light coming from the soft glow of the tall street lights. They were borderline running down the almost empty street, a cup of coffee in his right hand, and holding his boyfriend's hand with his left. The two were almost spilling their drinks as they ran, and he knew if they didn't have a lid on them they would have a lot more coffee on the ground behind them then they would have in their cups. "Where are we even going?" He asked with a smile.
Remus glanced at him for a few moments with joy all over his face, clearly excited for whatever he had planned for him. "If I told you I'd have to gut you alive!" He teased as he steered them off of the street sidewalk and onto one that would quickly lead them into a park. "Come on, just wait! It'll be worth the surprise when we get there!"
It didn't take long for the two to get into the almost completely empty park. There were tall black poles that lead to what almost looked like a fancy lantern for lights so that people walking by could see. The sidewalk was smooth, good for running on so you didn't have to look down too much for fear of tripping and falling. Trees, bushes, flowers, and a few small animals were around the park too, giving it nature to enjoy. It was honestly nicer then he remembered from the last time he had been here. Maybe he'd have to come back again soon because it looked like a great place to just relax at.
Virgil wanted to ask more questions as to where they were going, but he knew Remus wouldn't answer him until they got there. Though, he wouldn't have to wait for long, because pretty soon, they arrived where he had been taking him. The spot that Remus had planned out for them was a black blanket over the soft grass, and just far enough from any of the lights in the park to be able to look up and see the stars well. It wasn't anything too grand, but he liked that it wasn't. It was perfect.
"Wow, Remus, I'm shocked. I don't see any dead or gutted mice or squirrels from your cat this time. What a lucky person I am." Virgil teased, playfully nudging his boyfriend before letting go of his hand and heading over to the blanket to sit on it. Running his free hand across it felt nice. It was soft and kind of fuzzy. "What's the special occasion?"
Remus laughed, almost bouncing over to sit down beside Virgil. "I was going to! Grim brought back a dead mouse today! But from your scream the last time, I guessed I wouldn't. This time." He joked. "I wanted it to just be, nice."
"You? Making something just nice? Am I sure this is Remus Rey? My boyfriend? For did I pick up the wrong person at the coffee shop?"
"I can go get the dead animals now if you'd prefer-!"
"No! No, that's okay. I'd rather not throw up my coffee today, like last time."
The two laughed for a few moments before Remus look a long swing of his coffee, which made Virgil follow suit, but only after giving his boyfriend a fond look. God did he love him... so much. After, Remus set his drink down in the grass, glancing over to his lover as he was still taking sips from his. He slowly moved closer until he was right beside the other boy, making him stop and meet his eyes. "Yes?" He almost purred.
"Do you think it would be insane if we just, made out? Right now?" Remus asked, a smile on his lips and hazel eyes gleaming with mischief.
Virgil laughed, putting his own drink down. "And run the risk of other people in the park catching us?" He replied amusedly. "That's so dumb. I'm in."
And, as they connected lips, they barely cared the long-forgotten drinks spilt in the end, soaking into the grass and a bit into the blanket. Because, the only thing that really matters to them right then, was each other. And that's all that will ever matter.
