AN: So... um... yo? Long time no see? Ha ha... ha.
I know I practically abandoned this story (whoops), and I feel really bad about it (not), but it became... hard for me to write it? I guess? I can't quite say I got bored of it, but let's just say I've had enough of it.
It was taxing on my mind and I took a break from it.
It is especially weird to be updating this now, in 2021 (which I hope will be kinder to me than 2020...), but let's hope this year won't be as bad as this chapter is going to get!
I hope you all stay safe during these hard times, and happy late Christmas and New Year and everything I've missed in between!!!"You're staying at a hotel?"
Aizen twirled the straw in the glass and watched as the pinkish liquid swirled around. "For the meantime, yes. I'm moving out soon, after all." He could practically see her expression shift even as he wasn't looking at her.
"Because of them?" He raised his head and looked at her, really, really looked at her. "You want to... give them space?" Her honey-brown eyes were narrowed and her brows were furrowed.
Space... That may be it, but... "Not them, me," he spoke, "I need space, to be away from... everything."
Rin fiddled with her fingers and her bracelet dangled, the pale, yellow rose glinting under the light. "I understand, and if that's what you want to do, then I can't say or do anything to try and convince you otherwise." The corners of her lips quirked up in a soft smile, one meant to show him the support she offered.
"Sometimes, I think you're too good for this world." The words left him without a second thought and he could only watch her eyes widen as she processed them.
She blinked and averted her eyes, fingers coming to clench around each other in, what seemed to be, embarrassment. "Um, I, uh..." she stuttered, looking at everything except him.
"You don't have to say anything, it was a compliment."
As she looked back at him, with cheeks redder than usual, he wondered when he became such a hypocrite.

He roamed the streets, unsure of what else to do. He wasn't particularly hungry, having eaten breakfast back at the hotel, but he still felt restless somehow.
There was an important thing he needed to do, and that was to find an apartment, which he had no idea how to do.
How does one go apartment hunting?
In that moment, as if someone wanted to make his job easier, a literal paper fell in front of him. He blinked, somewhat caught off guard by that, and bent down to take hold of it. In bold letters, it said: Apartment for sale/rent.
Truly... how fortunate.

There was an address at the bottom of the flyer and he, of course, went there as soon as possible.
He was greeted by a familiar face.
"You're..." The woman trailed off, recognition flashing across her features, "that boy from the shop."
Aizen briefly went silent, blankly staring straight at her. She was the one who helped him arrange flowers for Obito and Hanae. He bowed, lowering his head. "Hello," he continued as he straightened up, "I thank you for the flowers once again, but I'm here for the apartment flyer...? I didn't go to the wrong address, right?"
The woman shook her head, "No, you're at the right place, come in." She opened the door wider and gestured for him to come inside.
