Page 1 – Chapter 1
Panel 1.
We open high above the earth in the middle of a stormy sky, grey clouds cover the entire background, we are inside a storm. An Alpha Vulcan-esque jet flies through the wind and snow.
NARRATOR: Fire. The key to humanities success.
PILOT: Sir? I don't know if I can go through with this.
Panel 2.
Inside the cockpit, lights flash on the complex looking console. We are looking straight at the pilot. His face is hidden by the helmet, but beneath the robotic visage, the human is facing a very human dilemma.
NARRATOR: Prometheus stole fire from his fellow Gods for them. He allowed mankind to sample their power.
COMMANDER (on headset): We don't have a choice. International pressure is forcing our hand.
Panel 3.
We are looking at the base of the jet where an abnormally large nuclear bomb has is waiting to be dropped.
NARRATOR: And they have forever chased more.
COMMANDER (on headset): War is coming son. If this operation is a success, we may just be able to come out on top of all this.
Panel 4.
The jet is heading below the clouds, the heat from its engines leaving a thick trail in its wake.
NARRATOR: Humanity has always danced in the tips of flames. Each empire rising from the ashes of the last.
COMMANDER (on headset): You are nearing the target area. All pilots have checked in. Good Luck and God help us.
Panel 5.
We are below the jet, the bomb has been dropped, the jet far above us.
SFX: SCREEEEEEEEEEEE
NARRATOR: But this time is different.
Panel 6.
A white ball of light, representing simultaneously an explosion and a sphere of heaven where we will be transitioning to. We will return to the original scene at the very end of the last issue, bookmarking the story. But now we change setting completely.
NARRATOR: I have known many conflicts, but like many things, you never forget your first.
Panel 7.
It will not be immediately obvious to readers that we have transitioned, and that's ok. We open on an angelic guard transporting a prisoner. They are walking up an open staircase on the side of a huge building, like the Mayan pyramids. the guard dressed in exquisite armour, the prisoner lags behind them in heavy rags that hides all of their body. The prisoners wrists are shackled with a chain being held by the guard. Behind them, lining the horizon, we can see the ruined city of Heaven; a mashup of impossible architecture and nature, imagine the greatest architectural feats of man were actually found in nature. But it has been ravaged by explosions and conflict, smoke still billows out of various holes and the sky is a deep red in homage to the old saying "Red sky at morning".
NARRATOR: After three days the son of God quelled the fighting. The rebellion was over. Many wept for the lost and for the kingdom that had been tainted with the stains of war.
