9: 我ら (just us)

Ni-ki wiped his hair with his towel as he went to his bed after taking a shower. He looked out to the window, watching the street.

That's when his phone suddenly buzzed, meaning he received a message. He was expecting it to be either from the school or Jay, but he didn't expect it to be Kim Sunoo.

Ni-ki sighed as he turned off his phone, leaning his head on the windowsill. "Tomorrow's a big day yet I don't feel like it."

All that's in Ni-ki's head is to wish that Sunoo will look at him too. Even if it's just for 0.5 seconds.

Now that he has come thought of it, Sunoo is his school trip partner, his first school trip will be with Sunoo. And Sunghoon won't be there to interrupt them because he's from another section.

Ni-ki smiled as he took his phone, replying to Sunoo who might be asleep already.

"Good morning, Ni-ki. It's your school trip, isn't it? Do you want me to drive you to the airport?" Jay waved his car keys, offering Ni-ki for a ride. "Who's your partner and why are you dressed like a prince charming in a shining armor?"

"I'm having my first Seulli High school trip with Sunoo!" Ni-ki jumped up and down excitedly after fixing his collar and sleeves. "I'm so excited, I didn't even sleep last night!"

Jay laughed as he wore his coat, getting ready to leave with Ni-ki. "Alright, little boy. We heard you. Let's get going to the car before you're late."

"This is gonna be the biggest school trip ever!" Jungwon loudly screams through the corridor.

"Shut up, You're so noisy. Anyways, where's Sunoo? I haven't seen him since yesterday." Jake says softly.

"I don't know either... Oh wait, isn't that him?" Jungwon says quietly.

"Yeah, but what in the world is he doing with Ni-ki?"

"Oh Gosh, Don't tell me he got paired with Ni-ki?!" Jungwon loudly exclaims, while cracking his fingers.

"That's how I see it."

"And he never told us? What if he gets killed this time?!" Jungwon walks with anger but luckily, Jake stopped him.

"Just let them be, you know Sunoo wouldn't let anyone just do stuff to him."

"B-but... Ni-ki is literally touching him right now!"

"Huh?"

Jake and Jungwon look closely as they see Ni-ki ruffling Sunoo's hair gently.

"Hey, are you seriously making me look like an egg? I didn't wear white for this!" Sunoo says while trying to get Ni-ki's hands off his hair.

"I'm trying to place you a bonnet, so stay still." Ni-ki pulls out a yellow bonnet from his bag and places it on Sunoo's head.

"Great, now I look smaller."

"That makes you cute anyway," Ni-ki says as he holds Sunoo's hand to pull him to the classroom.

This reminded Sunoo of the time he went out with Sunghoon.

It felt different but he still felt comfortable.

"Sunghoon's hands felt cold and they were a bit big, making me feel safe. Ni-ki's hands, however, felt warm and they were a bit smaller than mine, but they felt comfortable." Sunoo thought to himself. "But then I could feel the love just by the way Ni-ki is holding me. For some reason, I never felt it when Sunghoon was holding me."

"Alright Class B, please hold unto your partners and follow me to the van. We will be having a 2-hour drive to the airport. Now please, follow me." The teacher says while waving her hand up in the air so that everyone could see her.

The way to the van was kinda dark, and the sunshine was scared.

He had no choice but to...

"Don't mind me, I'm just scared," Sunoo says as he holds Ni-ki's arm tightly.

Ni-ki was shocked by the sudden action the latter made, but it made him blush for a bit.

Sooner or later, all the students were in the van.

Some of them started eating already, some were taking selcas, some were preparing their wireless earphones to listen to music, while most preferred to sleep.

Sunoo let go of Ni-ki's arm and took out his potato chips from his bag.

He was a foodie after all, and food is life.

Ni-ki, on the other hand, was ready to sleep.

30 minutes in, and most of the section was already asleep, even Ni-ki.

But Sunoo was busy binge-watching kdrama while eating more potato chips.

Ni-ki was sleeping deeply, and little did he know, he leaned to Sunoo's shoulder which made him budge for a bit.

Sunoo looked at Ni-ki sleeping softly. He looked at his eyes, nose, and trailed down to his lips.

"Wow... his lips are so perfect and so kissable, I just want to- Oh My Gosh! Sunoo, what the heck are you thinking? Aish." Sunoo faced away Ni-ki but he was still on his shoulder.

Sunoo decided he should also go for a sleep since he ran out of offline episodes to watch (Very Relatable)

"Okay, Children, wake up. We're here in the airport, please prepare to leave the van." The teacher says which woke everyone up.

Sunoo woke up first than Ni-ki and he realized Ni-ki was hugging him tightly.

"Ni-ki... It's time to wake up." Sunoo gently taps Ni-ki's shoulder which woke him up.

"Oh, uhm, sorry, I didn't realize I was sleeping on your—"

"It's okay." Sunoo smiles brightly at Ni-ki which gave him butterflies in his stomach.

"Ahh yeah, can you not do that again, because it's kinda disgusting and uncomfortable to the eyes." Ni-ki lies. He liked to see Sunoo smile. It's just that he doesn't want his stomach to be filled with more butterflies.

"Hmph. Whatever." Sunoo smiled even more at Ni-ki while they were both leaving the van and were going to the immigration.

"Stop that." Ni-ki says.

"Stop that." Sunoo mockingly says as he laughed, staring at Ni-ki once again. For once, he forgot that he had Sunghoon because now, all he wanted was to be with the new Ni-ki.

Ni-ki and Sunoo laugh out loud while in the boarding gates.

Sunoo thought that being with Ni-ki wasn't such a bad idea at all.

And he still has 1 more week to enjoy with Ni-ki.
