(フラッシュバック|| Flashback: The day Sunghoon brought Sunoo to the hospital)
Sunghoon then left Sunoo's room after hearing Jungwon's light screams coming his way. He then hung his head low as he walked behind a doctor who seemed very stressed out.
"Good Morning, Sir Kim." An intern walked towards the doctor, holding his hand to have his attention. "Are you free this weekend?"
The doctor still kept walking which was lucky for Sunghoon as this didn't stop his way out of the hospital. He then shook his head, arms crossed which made him look even more stressed. "You have to cancel it! My son is much more important than anyone else and I have to run a surgery for him next week."
The intern simply hung his head low, closing the file he needed to show the doctor yet he was taken aback by the sudden change of plans. "Y-yes, sir..."
Even if Sunghoon didn't want to hear what they were talking about, there was a point in the conversation that caught his attention. Hold on, it can't be... right?
"Also, tell Doctor Park from office 217 to get a donor by next week. Sunoo might just need it any time soon." The high-position doctor called out to the intern who just nodded his head as he walked away to follow his command.
That's right, Sunghoon knew that this doctor was Sunoo's father. He then entered his car, staring at himself in the front mirror. It might look like he never loved Sunoo since he followed his Grandmother's orders, but he does. He still loves Sunoo no matter what's between Ni-ki and him.
"Will Sunoo undergo surgery?" He asked himself as he drove his car all the way back to his place. Sunghoon then entered the dorm, sitting on the sofa with thoughts running on his mind.
"Hi, Hoon! What's up?" Heeseung greets Sunghoon with an apple juice as he sat next to him. "It looks like you're thinking about a lot of things."
"Nothing much," Sunghoon remarked as he took the apple juice box from Heeseung's hand, staring at it with thoughts once again. "I was just thinking. Do you know what it takes to donate someone a heart for surgery?"
Heeseung then got himself into thinking, trying to answer Sunghoon's weird question. "Uh, well... According to the kdramas I watch, the process can take hours and there's also a risk that the patient will die. But that isn't the complication..."
Sunghoon immediately asked, eyes full of curiosity. "What is it?"
"... It's hard to find a heart donor with the same blood type as the patient."
"Oh." Sunghoon sighed, hugging his knees together. "I see."
"Why'd you ask?"
Sunghoon laughed awkwardly, shocked that Heeseung asked that question. "It's nothing! I was just curious... You know, Sunoo's in need of one for his surgery next week. But don't worry—"
"Shit, Park Sunghoon. Don't tell me... Oh, please no!" Heeseung knows how much Sunghoon likes Sunoo and that he would do anything for the younger one no matter what his grandmother or Ni-ki says. "You can't do it. I'm sure someone else will be willing to do it. You don't have to do something like this just for him to adore you!"
"But Heeseung, This is Kim Sunoo we're talking about." Sunghoon smiled sadly, hugging Heeseung. "It's okay."
Heeseung threw punches on Sunghoon's chest, frowning at what the latter just said. "It's not okay, Sunghoon! Please, just don't do it. I don't want to lose a best friend."
Sunghoon smiled and ruffled Heeseung's hair. "Fine, I won't..."
(フラッシュバックの終わり|| End of Flashback)
Heeseung placed his hands on his face, hiding his tears and anger. "I can't believe he lied to me."
Sunoo had tears flowing down his eyes but he still kneeled to comfort Heeseung. "There must be a mistake."
Ni-ki only stood there, watching Sunoo cry as he had thoughts for himself. He is shocked that even after what Sunghoon told him in the garden, he managed to save his life.
"Why is... Why is everyone crying?" Jungwon asks as he wakes up together with Jake.
"Yeah, why is everyone crying— Sunoo!" Jake slowly walked towards Sunoo, hugging him gently with care since he just came from surgery.
Jay then entered the room, seeing Sunoo awake so he decided to hand him something. "Ahh... I think you guys were close to the donor, he even asked me to give you this." Jay smiled as he handed a white envelope to Sunoo.
Sunoo opened the envelope immediately and there he saw a letter from Sunghoon:
Hi, Rain boy~! I'm so glad you're awake after so much pain you've been through! I'm really sorry if I can't be with you right now. Ever since you were sick in the hospital, I always watched you, hoping that you are okay. Here's my first and last yet greatest gift for you! Always remember that I love you even though you don't really feel the same way anymore and that I'm always with you from now on. I should've said I loved you for real sooner...
Sincerely yours, Sunghoon.
Sunoo cried even more and held the letter tightly. "I'll always be your rain boy even if we don't feel the same way for each other anymore."
"He loves you so much, Please keep that in mind." Heeseung smiled through his tears, hugging Sunoo as he closed his eyes, feeling the warm embrace of his own best friend through Sunoo. "Sunghoon's always with you now."
"Come on, Sunoo." Ni-ki pulled the elder gently, wiping his tears. "You shouldn't cry over something like this."
"I know, right? Sunghoon won't like it if you cry. He wants you to smile for sure!" Jake exclaimed, trying to convince the two to smile.
"Yeah, Jake's right..." Jungwon remarked, rolling his eyes as he finally agreed to something that Jake said.
Sunoo laughed as he wiped his tears away. "Of course, smiling! That's what I'm known for."
Heeseung smiled as well and held Sunoo's hand. "Glad you're fine."
