13: 偽の愛 (fake love)

"Is Sunoo okay?" Sunghoon asks the doctor who was checking Sunoo up.

"He'll be fine in a while, he just needs to rest for now." The doctor explains as he leaves Sunghoon and Sunoo in the room.

Sunghoon sat down on the chair next to Sunoo and looked at him for a while. Then a few minutes later, someone barged inside the room and looked at Sunoo with all concern. Yes, it's Ni-ki.

"Sunoo!" Ni-ki holds Sunoo's hand tightly. "What happened?" Ni-ki asks Sunghoon.

"He said his chest was hurting then he fainted so he was rushed here in the hospital," Sunghoon says, looking at Ni-ki's hand holding Sunoo's.

Ni-ki sighed and looked at Sunoo who was now unconscious. The nurse came in with the director of the hospital, also known as Sunoo's father.

"The director would like to check on the patient himself. Please leave the room for now." The nurse said, guiding the two outside the room.

Now the two were standing up in the garden, thinking about what just happened to Sunoo.

"So what Jay Hyung said was true," Ni-ki says to break the awkward silence between Sunghoon and Him.

"What did he say?" Sunghoon asked Ni-ki.

(フラッシュバック|| Flashback: Jay driving Ni-ki to school)

Once they got into the car, Ni-ki looked at the window to process everything he just learned right now.

"Ni-ki, you know..." Jay says while driving.

"What?"

"Don't get shocked if I tell you this... but Sunoo went to me yesterday after you dropped him to his place."

"And then?" Ni-ki asks Jay completely curious as to why Sunoo visited him.

"He said his chest was hurting lately, and he didn't know what to do. I told him it was just temporary heartburn and it could be solved by drinking medicine."

"He's fine, so why are you telling me this?"

"I lied," Jay says.

"What?" Ni-ki asked Jay.

"He had a heart condition ever since he was young and he got surgery three years ago. I just don't seem to understand why It's coming back. But what I know is that he only has 10 months left."

"T-ten... ten Months?!"

"Yeah, I'm trying my best to do everything to lengthen his life span."

"He has only 10 months left," Ni-ki explains to Sunghoon. Ni-ki was expecting a sad or shocked reaction from Sunghoon, but Sunghoon just smirked.

"Everything's going as planned." Sunghoon sighs in relief.

"What?!" Ni-ki asked, completely bewildered by the reaction of the elder.

"I'm going to marry Sunoo, and if he dies, I can be the heir of the Sunwoo Group," Sunghoon explains.

Ni-ki just stared at Sunghoon with disbelief. If he was the Ni-ki who liked fighting with people, he would run and punch Sunghoon in the face. However, he just stood there, staring at Sunghoon who seemed evil. "He trusted and loved you more than anyone in this world."

"Fake love, I guess?" Sunghoon smiled, shaking his shoulders. "You can make him like you and it won't be my problem if you don't stay longer together."

"Shut up!" Ni-ki held Sunghoon's collar, not being able to hold his anger any further. "Take that back."

Sunghoon just acted calm at first but he ended up slapping Ni-ki to the floor. "You should know that we're all acting like who we are right now because of society, right? Don't you dare change my plans, okay?"

"The audacity?" Ni-ki touched his face, feeling pain just like how Sunoo felt when he got slapped by Ni-ki.

"Sunghoon! Stop!" Sunoo calls from afar as he runs closer to the fight. "Stop, please..." Sunoo faced Sunghoon with tears in his eyes as he hugged Ni-ki.

Sunghoon held unto Sunoo's cold hand tightly. "Sunoo are you okay? Please tell me-"

"No! I don't want to listen or talk to you ever again!" Sunoo was hesitating to slap someone older than him, but he did it anyway. He then pulls Ni-ki with him back to his room and leaves Sunghoon in his knees behind.

"If only I knew!" Sunoo held Ni-ki up as he stared at Sunghoon with pain in his eyes. "Are you okay, Ni-ki?"

"What do you mean? I should be the one asking you that!" Ni-ki replies with teary eyes. Now both of them were crying.

Sunoo smiled through tears streaming down his face. "I'm fine..." Sunoo stretched his arms to the side to offer a hug to Ni-ki.

Ni-ki smiled too and accepted the warm hug. "Don't you dare forget about the way you betrayed me for someone like him?"

"I'm sorry." Sunoo pouted, hanging his head low.

Ni-ki ruffled Sunoo's hair and pushed him gently back to bed. "Rest now." He tucked Sunoo under a blanket.

"I just told you that I'm fine." Sunoo frowns as he holds Ni-ki's wrist. "Just stay with me and let's talk!"

"I'll be here..." Ni-ki sat down on the chair next to Sunoo. They stayed silent for a while.

"The person you like must be a really lucky person," Sunoo says while looking up at the ceiling.

"Oh? Why do you think so?"

"You're perfect and cute...."

The compliment made Ni-ki blush. "He is indeed lucky, I guess."

"Anyways, when can I leave this place? I just want to meet Jake and Jungwon already... and also get back to my classes."

"Uhh, they said you could leave once you're okay."

"Well then let's get going! I'm good as fuck!" Sunoo stood up and removed his hospital clothing.

It's been 3 days since Sunoo's last visit to the hospital and he's been doing fine ever since. He's currently walking to the cafeteria to meet Jake, Jungwon, Ni-ki, and Jay.

"I wonder if they'll like it, I made these last night for them!" Sunoo hums to himself as he walks with paper bags filled with food.

He passed by the dark basement since that was the only way everyone could use to enter the cafeteria.

He then bumped into someone which made him drop the food he was bringing.

"Bungeoppang?" Says a voice that came closer to Sunoo.

"H-hey! Don't you dare touch those!" Sunoo says after seeing the stranger rip the bungeoppang into two.

"Aww, I did~ What are you gonna do now?" The man moved closer and pulled Sunoo's collar. That's when Sunoo finally realized who was bullying him; Choi Yeonjun, the school's bully.

Sunoo felt the pain in his chest after a long time. "Ahhhh!!" Sunoo held unto the floor for support.

"Look at the sunshine in pain~!" Yeonjun stood up and left Sunoo alone after kicking him.

Sunoo struggled to stand up, but he eventually fainted to the floor in just a matter of seconds. But luckily, someone brought him to the hospital immediately.
