Yuri and Hana now sat in the detention room, grumbling and cursing at each other. The teacher who had been sitting there just went out to the restroom.
"I'm sorry, okay?" Yuri mumbled under her breath, and Hana scoffed.
"How does sorry help the fact that you sent that guy my brother's picture? What if he finds out? What if the guy you're texting is a serial killer or something? What if—"
"Jesus Christ, Haneul. I already told you that Heeseung is legit, and he's a guy in this school, not a fucking serial killer! I told you I'm sorry. If I could have, I'd have sent my own picture! Or at least Jisung's. But I couldn't, alright? He knows both of us and will recognize us the next day he comes to the university! Haejin oppa's the safest option I had to someone Heeseung wouldn't know personally!" Yuri yelled, cutting Hana off.
"Ugh, you can't be serious right now. I can't believe that we're fighting over a guy—"
"Whoa, who's fighting over a guy here?" A way too familiar voice (at least for Yuri) interrupted the two girls.
They turned around and saw Heeseung and his friend Jungwon, followed by a few other boys came walking into the room.
"Oh, h-hey. Uhh... no one. H-Haneul was just t-telling me... a story! Yeah, a story," Yuri stuttered, and Hana sighed.
"Who are you to ask that?" She snapped at Heeseung, and Yuri gasped, pulling her back down to the chair.
"Shh, he's the guy. Heeseung," she whispered, and Hana's eyes widened.
"Oh, my God. I'm sorry. But damn, he's hot."
Yuri rolled her eyes, but she bit her lips. "Also, one more thing. When I texted him as Jisung, he knows that I have a best friend named Hana. I'll call you Haneul from now on, okay? If he asks you anything about Hana or Jisung, just zip it," she told her, and she nodded, pursing her lips together.
Yuri pulled back from her and sat straight in her seat, and Hana— no, Haneul, did the same.
"Hey, Yuri..." Heeseung's voice startled her as she turned around. She gasped as his face was right behind her that if he came a little closer, they would bump foreheads. He suddenly pulled back and laughed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he scratched the back of his neck, and Yuri blushed.
"It's alright. What's wrong? Why detention?" She giggled as she looked behind him and saw a group of random boys with bruises on their faces seated on the chairs, looking tired and beaten up.
"Yeah, just had a little fight with those guys in the hallways," he mumbled, and Yuri tilted her head in confusion.
"Why? What happened? Are you hurt? Omo, you did that to them?" Yuri bit her lips, and Heeseung chuckled.
"Well, not just me. The two of us," Heeseung pointed at the boy next to him, and he smiled at Yuri. "Jungwon, I'm guessing you already know him."
Yuri looked at Hana and then turned to Heeseung. "Yep, I guess I do."
Jungwon had a long-time crush on Hana, but she had turned him down, and almost the whole university knew about that. What they didn't know, apart from Yuri, was that Hana liked him too, but she only rejected him because of her older brother. Her older brother, Kim Haejin, was very strict and overprotective of Haneul, and she didn't wanna get in trouble with him.
"Why are you guys here, though?" Heeseung asked. "I didn't expect you to be the 'bad-girl-get-in-trouble' type, you know?" He chuckled, and Yuri rolled her eyes, trying not to smile.
"Nothing serious, geez. We were just talking, and Mr. Choi decided to give us detention," she grumbled, and Heeseung grinned.
"That's cute," he smiled fondly at her, and she blushed, looking away from him. "Alright, then. Your friend looks lonely, right there," he said, pointing at Hana, who was going through her Instagram feed casually. "And I better try and solve this stupid issue with those boys," he sighed as he made his way to those boys, followed by Jungwon.
Yuri sighed to herself as she sat back to the front and faced Hana. "Hey," she tapped her arm, and Hana hummed in response. "Hey, I'm talking to you," Yuri called again, and this time, Hana sighed as she tucked her phone back into her pocket.
"What? Are you done talking to your boyfriend? If yes, then let's get out of here," she mumbled as she grabbed her bag and quickly left the room.
Yuri gasped and ran after her as Heeseung and Jungwon stared at them, wondering what happened.
"Wait, wait, what? Girl, what's wrong?" Yuri asked once she pulled Hana by the wrist and stood by their lockers. "And he's not my boyfriend," she muttered, glaring at her.
"I really like him, Yuri. I really really do," Hana almost cried out, and Yuri's eyes widened.
"Wait, what? Who? Heeseung?" She gasped, and Hana flicked her forehead.
"His best friend, Jungwon, dumbass."
"Oh, that guy. Hey, listen. Haejin oppa's not even here, yeah? So, why don't you try it out? Tell him beforehand that there are chances of him being beaten up by your brother, but see if he stays after that or not?" Yuri asked her, and she rolled her eyes.
"Can you get any dumber? You do realize that I have a younger brother who'll report everything about me to Oppa, yeah? Ugh, perks of having two brothers and being the only girl in the family apart from my mom, yay!" She fake cheered, and Yuri bit her lips.
"It'll be fine, Hana."
"Yeah, if a miracle happens!"
