Venti had missed M/n when he left to collect herbs so he just stayed at the Knights of Favonius headquarters until the redhead came back to teach him about the herbs found around the city of wind. "Venti, why are you indulging in his lies like the others?"
"He's not lying, that soul in his body is almost new, like all the memories it held just vanished... Except for all the traumatizing ones and maybe a few happy ones... Like the one you pushed to the surface, you're more involved with his kingdom than I assumed, Zhongli. Not to mention how much of a brut you're being towards M/n over that necklace, you cut each side of his neck."
"He deserves it-"
"No one deserves that kind of treatment, Xiao told me he collapsed after you walked away from them. You purposely found him and started a mess when he was avoiding you! Geez, I need fresh-"
"Venti, I'm back! I also met Kaeya today, we're going upstairs."Venti shot up from the couch to join but was grabbed by Zhongli. "Why is he going to that room?"
"He's avoiding you! Now I'm going to have fun, buh-bye!" Venti pulls his arm free and speeds his way up the stairs, he nearly threw the door open in excitement but immediately frowns when he saw Kaeya in the room as well. The cryo user throws his hands up and moves a few steps away from M/n. "M/n, that man is dangerous-"
"Not as dangerous as the dragon."
"He has a point, Venti, if it really came down to it, I'd trust Kaeya before Zhongli. And that's an unfortunate concussion since I don't trust Kaeya with anything, not even a stick."M/n chuckles as the two argue back and forth with each other but caught onto Kaeya's confused expression. "Wait, you trust me with the king over Zhongli? But he's way more responsible than I am and we all know this."
"Well sir Kaeya, he doesn't like me, if anything Zhongli hates me."
"Who could hate such a beautiful man?"M/n, Venti, and Diluc all stare Kaeya down as if telling him that was a dumb question but M/n settles for allowing Kaeya to figure it out for himself. "Alright for the reason Venti is here! Herbology 101!"
After the Herbology lesson, Kaeya and Venti ended up falling asleep, leaving M/n and Diluc awake and unaware of Zhongli at the door. M/n held such a strange and longing expression while looking out of the window, Diluc caught the reflection of the expression, he didn't know how to open the conversation as he prepared tea for himself and M/n. Which meant taking a page from Kaeya's book. "Mora for your thoughts?"
"I...I don't think I should stay in Mondstadt anymore, I feel like I'm causing trouble for the Knights of Favonius.."
"Is it because of that bastard- I mean, Zhongli? You don't have to leave because of him. Everyone here enjoys you quite a lot, especially Venti, Aether, Paimon, Xiao and... Myself."M/n knew that Diluc was telling the truth and that made his heart swell.

M/n's heart dropped, he didn't know that Zhongli was nearby which meant he was at the door but if it was worth the points, he jumps headfirst into it! Suddenly, a memory flashes through his mind; it was one of Helios admiring the necklace. "M/n? Are you okay should I get-"
"No, I'm fine! I just remembered something..."
"My offer still stands, I'm all ears."
"Okay, I saw my big brother, Helios. He was gazing happily at the necklace as if someone he cared for gave it to him. He looked rather happy and I felt that same happiness in my chest, yet there was this overwhelming sense of loneliness, I knew what that necklace meant to him, and yet, it was put around my neck because he knew something would happen to him..."M/n knew what it felt like to lose family, what made him angry about the situation is that he couldn't unlock the memory of what happened. "If I could remember then I could tell Zhongli...I feel as if he needs to know but..but...I CAN'T REMEMBER TO SAVE MY DAMN LIFE!"
"Whoa! Calm down."
"Sorry I don't know where that came from. It's like he was going to leave me alone but why was I so afraid that he would leave me? Shouldn't I have been happy?*sniff*"M/n covered his face trying to hide the tears, it was all too real how he and the old M/n were so alike. "I guess I can piece together why Zhongli hates you so much."
"Oh? Do tell."
"He must have loved Helios very much, and whatever happened to your brother he blames you for everything..."Diluc slide from his chair just to kneel in front of M/n and pulled M/n's hands away from his face. The tears that were hidden away now began to drop to the floor and a few managed to drop onto Diluc's cheek. Then the door slams open, jolting the other two awake.
