Kaeya explained everything, from start to finish, leaving everyone stunned just as he once was. M/n for the first time felt outraged, in all his time here on Teyvat, this was the first time he felt like could truly hurt another being of this world, and yet heartbreak washed over him more than the rage. "...Sage didn't deserve what happened to him! For now on, if the Duke sends anything, decline it. I must get my heart and mind together for the time being."M/n storms off after giving out the order, he felt like he couldn't breathe; it was like the walls were closing in on him and he needed fresh air in his lungs.
Someone rushed after M/n, much to their surprise, and others but once M/n stepped foot outside a hand caught his wrist; It was Zhongli. "Let me go-"
"Calm down. Don't allow that rage and sorrow to take over-"That sentence alone angered M/n even more and without thinking, the king slaps Zhongli with all his strength. "You're one to talk! Don't lecture me if you can't abide by your own words! You of all people can't tell me what to do and what not to do! Did you suddenly forget what you did to me or are you choosing to pretend it didn't happen because I forgave you long before you forgave me!?"Zhongli held his cheek, he didn't expect the peaceful male in front of him to slap him.
The two sat there, the wind was all either could hear until Zhongli spoke up. "I...I just don't want you to end up as I did. I was miserable for so long and I blamed you knowing it was never your fault but that rage kept me going. I thought if I killed you, that would make me feel happy again and that I would be able to move on. However, now that I think about it, it wouldn't have made me feel anything but more sorrow because I would have also put everyone else in danger."
"What else changed your mind?"
"I've never seen the knights so happy, hell even Xiao and that kid was never happy-"
"Zhongli."M/n says before the Geo Archon could go on a spill about Xiao not being a happy person. "Besides that, without you how would any of this happen? All the joy you brought wouldn't exist... Because of you, Mondstadt is more lively than before. They can't imagine a world without you now."
"But it isn't the same for you...*sigh* I appreciate your words Zhongli but at the same time, I can't. I know that Dainsleif punches you, he told me himself. I'm sorry he did that...Right now, I just need time to think about what I just heard. But still, thank you. It was nice to have this type of conversation with you."M/n turns his back just for a second and Zhongli blurts out the only thing he could think of. "You're too kind.."
"I know, and you're stupid."
"I.." M/n turns just enough for Zhongli to see his smile. The Geo Archon was of course stunned. "This is the part where you say; I know."
"Yes, I know."The king then takes off down the stairs and vanishes from Zhongli's sight. He couldn't understand why but that conversation took some weight off his shoulders but what surprised him more than the sweet and caring smile was the fact that M/n actually slapped him across the face; leading Zhongli to place a hand onto his cheek. "That hurt..."
"And I hope it hurts your pride but it seems you're opening up to him just a bit."Venti couldn't help but smile a bit though he was still disappointed in Zhongli this was worth the wait.
However...No one was prepared for what would happen next. As M/n trailed one of the many paths of the field surrounding Mondstadt, his body and mind were finally at ease. "
Why did I think it would be nothing but smooth sailing after I got Zhongli slightly on my side? Man, I didn't sign up for this extra emotional rollercoaster..."M/n merely plops down onto the grass and idly plays with the grass while trying to tie his thoughts together. In doing so it left him completely unaware of a large beast stalking him like prey. The creature took great interest in M/n; mainly due to the scent of lavender.
Suddenly M/n heard rapid footsteps racing towards him and before he could see what was going on, it was too late...
"Hey has anyone seen M/n? I made him milk tea. We'd usually go to the tower and drink it together as the sunsets."Venti states as Albedo stands behind him with the tea set and snacks in hand. Aether's head snaps up so quick he could have given himself whiplash. "M/n hasn't come back?! I could have sworn I heard the door open!"
"No, that was Zhongli. He came in alone, M/n should have been back by now. He never misses a chance to watch the sunset from the tower."Kaeya said walking into the sitting room with Diluc. "We have to gather everyone-"
"GUYS WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!"The voice came from someone they all hadn't seen for quite some time; Razor. He was breathing heavily and look quite startled by what he could have possibly seen on the way to Mondstadt. "What happened!?"
"Andrius, he came out of nowhere and grabbed some red-headed male and took off! I was fortunate enough to be heading this way when I saw it! The poor guy was just sitting in the grass and hadn't noticed Andrius lurking nearby."
"SHIT!"Everyone immoderately ran out of the building as fast as they could. There was a possiblity that Andrius could hurt M/n if not kill him. Seeing all the males of the knights running startles everyone of Mondstadt, everyone had the same thought as they race to where Razor told them; ❝Please let M/n be okay!!❞
