* First part of the Chapter based on the song: Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman because it makes me cry.
Luke's POV.
Me and Michael laid on the couch of our apartment as we heard the kids playing in the other room.
I heard little footsteps running into the living room, and I saw Lilly skip into the room. She jumped up onto Michael's lap, and got close to his face. "Guess what, daddy?" She whispered.
"What?" He asked, and smiled at her. She had on her dress up clothes, along with a tiara. She wore a short, pink dress that went out like a tutu, and little white flat shoes.
"There's gonna be a ball at the castle. I'm invited." She said, and smiled. "You are?" He gasped. She nodded quickly.
"Help me practice my dancing." She said, and pulled him up. He grabbed both of her hands, and he taught her how to move her feet. She spun under his arm, and he picked her up by her waist, spinning her around. "I can't even miss one song. I'm gonna dance with Cinderella." She said, and giggled, when he sat her back down. I smiled at the two, and they continued to dance around the living room.
He kneeled down to her once she stopped dancing. "You're a beautiful dancer." He said, and she smiled. "Thank you. I need to go now, because she'll be gone soon! It's almost midnight!" She said, rushing off to her room. It was only 8 pm, but I wasn't gonna tell her that.
"She's beautiful." He said once he sat beside me again, and wrapped his arms around my waist. "She is." I whispered, and looked up at him. I pecked his chin, and he smiled down at me. "You're beautiful, too." He whispered, giving me a cute little Eskimo kiss.
"My beautiful, beautiful husband." He whispered, and I smiled like an idiot, and blushed deeply, looking down.
"I love you Mikey." I whispered one I had turned my gaze back to him. "I love you too," he said quietly, and kissed my forehead.
Lilly ran back into the room with a new dress on with new jewelry, and new shoes.
"Daddy! I'm in a hurry, but tell me if my dress looks okay." She said, shaking my knee. I sat up, and looked at her dress as she spun around. "Lilly, honey. You look beautiful. I love your dress." I said, and she smiled, running off again.
"One day she's gonna come to us before she goes on a date, and ask us the same thing." Michael said, raising an eyebrow at me. "Ugh. I hope that day isn't soon. I can't stand to see them grow up." I said, and he nodded. "Me neither."
--
I stayed at home today with the kids, and Michael went to work. They were currently playing in the living room.
I was cooking them macaroni and cheese when I heard a crash, and then the sound of Lilly crying. I quickly ran into the living room, and saw Logan with an angry look on his face. There was a small scratch on Lilly's forehead, and she sobbed on the ground.
"Logan! What did you do?" I asked, picking Lilly up. Before he could answer, there was knocking on the door. I walked over to it, with the crying little girl and saw Alex and Ashton standing at the door. "Luke please tell Ashton that there is no excuse for flirting with someone else when I'm right beside him." She said, and crossed her arms. "She's my ex! I didn't wanna be rude." "But you didn't have to tell her how good she looked!" Alex yelled, and I sighed as I shut the door behind them. They continued to argue in the living room, meanwhile, I sat Lilly down after her crying had calmed down.
I went to get her a band-aid, but I couldn't get there before I heard Logan start to cry.
I ran back quickly, and saw they were both throwing toys at each others head, and crying at the same time. "Logan! Lilly! Stop!" I yelled, and the phone started ringing. I could barely hear anything over Ashton and Alex's yelling, and the kids crying.
"Why the hell does your apartment smell lie it's burning?" Alex asked, holding a hand up to Ashton's face, and turning to me. My eyes widened, and I ran to the kitchen. I saw the pot had boiled over, and it was going up in smoke to the ceiling. I picked up a guitar center magazine, and began fanning the smoke. The phone rang again, and I sighed, turning off the stove once the boiling water had moved from the counter. I dumped the water into the sink, and turned on the fan that was above our stove.
I ran back to the living room, and Alex looked like she was about to backhand Ashton. They continued yelling and the kids were now screaming, and fighting to the death with play swords. I began getting a horrible headache from all of the noise.
"Shut up!" I yelled, and everyone stopped what they were doing, and looked at me. I loved the quiet. They all just stared at me though. Once the phone rang again, they all went back to screaming. I ran to the phone, picking it up, and I heard Michael's voice on the other line.
"Are you almost home?" I asked, feeling my eyes fill with tears from the stress.
"Yes baby. I'm pulling in the parking lot now. I was calling to see if you wanted me to bring anything home before I got here."
"Just tranquilizing darts please." I said, and hung up.
"Luke!" Alex yelled, coming over to me. Her and ash started yelling at me, trying to get me to decide who's right. I looked between them both, and only heard certain words.
"He was flirting!...she's just jealous!...it was my ex...he doesn't get it...I feel bad now...why won't he apologize?...why are you crying?...she's not listening!"
"What is going on?!" I heard Michael yell. Everyone got quiet, and looked back at him.
They started arguing again. It was a non-stop thing.
Michael grabbed both of the kids arms, and Ashton and Alex finally shut up, watching Michael. He sat them both in two chairs.
"You sit here. You sit here. Don't talk to each other. Don't touch each other. Don't even look at each other." He demanded. The kids shut up, and obeyed Michael.
He walked over to Ashton and Alex, and told Ashton he was an idiot for flirting with someone that's not his girlfriend. After they left, he put the kids to bed, and I worked on cleaning up the kitchen.
I lightly smiled once he entered the kitchen too. "The kids are asleep." He sighed, hugging my waist, and laying his head on my shoulder. "Finally." I said, and quietly laughed.
He took the rag from my hand, and sat it on the counter.
"Rough day?" He asked, and I looked back at him. "Very rough." I sighed, and he placed his hands on the back of my legs. "Jump." He whispered, and I did as I was told, wrapping my legs around his waist.
"Are you tired?" He asked, and I nodded, as he carried me to the bed room. He held me the whole way to the bedroom, and my head laid on his shoulder.
We finally got in there, and he shut the door behind us. He laid me down on the bed, and began pulling off my clothes. He replaced them with sweatpants and a T-shirt. He did the same to himself, and then laid down beside me. He pulled the blankets up over us, and wrapped his arm around my waist. I snugged into his chest, and felt him kiss my forehead.
"Michael?" I asked. "Yeah?" "I love this. I know that sometimes when people are married, they can start to grow apart, and they don't even hold each other at night anymore. But I love it when you do. I don't wanna grow apart." I said, and he smiled down at me. "I'll never let that happen." He whispered, and pecked my lips. "Now go to sleep, sweetheart." He said, and I smiled, snuggling back into his chest to fall asleep.
