But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance
To dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way?
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind?
Was it everything you wanted to find?
And did you miss me while you were
Looking for yourself out there?

After my mother's death, my dad was completely heartbroken. He stayed home for weeks, drinking through all of the pain. Most days, I would come home from school to find him blacked out on the table.

I picked up the bottle. I could only drink whenever he was blacked out, any other time he would've smacked the glass out of my hand. It became even harder once Luka began to come over to help with some things around the house. I finished the glass within a few minutes.  I knew it wasn't good, but I didn't care. I missed my mom.

"Maybe some exercise would help," I mumbled to myself, stumbling out the door.

Luka's POV

"Is that Y/N?" Juleka looked outside the boat to see her wobbling around the streets. "What is she doing?"

I focused my attention away from my guitar. She was indeed acting strange. The way people would slow down around her gave me the impression that she was talking to them. Afterward, her face would showcase a goofy smile, and the person she was talking to would walk away rather quickly.

Alright, Y/N, what'd you get yourself into this time?

"Lukaaaa! I was looking for you!" Her body swayed with the wind as she spoke. I tugged on her a little bit, trying to get her out of the middle of the sidewalk. "Heyy!"

"Are you drunk?" I finally spat out.

"What? Nooo," She laughed uncontrollably, clutching onto my arms. I looked back to see Juleka motioning towards herself.

"We're going to walk over here, okay?" I guided her back to the houseboat, where she clasped on the couch. "It doesn't seem like she is dealing with the death very well. I feel so bad for her. I couldn't imagine something this tragic happening shortly after moving from your home country." Juleka nodded as my mother walked into the boat.

"I'm picking up- Is she okay?"

"I think she's just tired," Juleka sputtered out.

"Okay... Anyway, I'll see you kiddos in a bit." I sat next to Y/N, positioning myself above her head. It still hurt me to watch her.

"You like her a lot, don't you?" I laughed until I realized she was being serious.

"Oh- Of course. She's awesome, but I don't want to be a disservice to her now."

Y/N's POV

My eyes fluttered open, revealing a white popcorn ceiling. Within seconds, Luka's head hovered above mine, before pulling me into what I thought was a hug, until a sharp sting spread across my face.

"Hey! What was-"

"Gosh- Don't ever do that again," He then pulled me into a hug, and I could feel how fast his heart was beating. I tried speaking, but he interrupted me once again. "You got drunk, Y/N. Juleka saw you wandering around outside; who knows what could've happened to you? And you shouldn't even be drinking at all!" I was drinking? I don't remember... "Where did you even find the alcohol?"

"My dad has some, but I rarely ever drink. If I do anyway, it's usually only a glass or two..."

"Your dad? In your house? I think you should stay here for the night." I can't do that. I need to go home to check on my dad. "If you need to go home, I will at least walk you back." He guided me through the door, making sure that I was stable. When we stepped through my front door, my dad was once again passed out at the kitchen table. Luka went straight to the fridge, throwing out any alcohol.

"My dad will kill you." He shrugged, continuing with what he was doing.
