I didn't go to school the next day. The idea that I might have gotten rid of Lila forever made me sick to my stomach. Luka offered to stay home to help me strategize on how to fix the issue, but I turned him away. I didn't need to drag him into my mess.

"I want to help you. This is not going to take only you to fix."

"I know that. I just- Just leave me alone today, okay? I don't feel well anyway." I lied. I felt awful, but I didn't need him to distract me. I needed more time to finalize my plan, and I couldn't tell him. The plan that I had been forming was not one he would approve of. I had to wait until the last second to tell him for it to work.

As I planned everything out on a large piece of paper, the doorbell interrupted me and my work. I grumbled as I trudged over to the door, and I was meet with a familiar set of eyes.

"Luka?"

"I brought donuts and croissants from the bakery." He opened the small box showing an assortment of pastries from the nearby bakery.

"I really appreciate it, but I would like to be alone." I began to lightly shut the door when he stopped it with his hand in a similar manner to how Lila stopped it.

"I don't want you to be alone right now. I can't have you getting any crazy ideas."

"About that... To bring Lila back I am going to get reakumatized." As I spoke, his facial expression changed from a goofy grin to a devastated frown. "Luka. It's the only way."

"No. No. There HAS to be another way." He shook his head in denial until he made eye contact with me again.

"You don't have to worry about it. I'll be fine." I continued to reassure him until his hands slammed down onto the table.

"NO! YOU WILL NOT PUT YOUR LIFE IN DANGER FOR LILA! L-I-L-A."

"I wouldn't care if it was you or Lila! She is still a person, a daughter, a friend? Just because she is mean and a liar doesn't mean that she isn't deserving of life?" The rest of the time we spent together was awkward and I just wanted it to end.

Finally, he spoke up, "I am going to go..." By the time I turned my head, he was gone.

I was awoken later by a low pitched screeching in my left ear as I lifted my head.

I screamed.

"GHOST!" I jumped out of my chair and squinted my eyes in an attempt to remove it from my vision. Despite my response, he remained calm.

"Greetings. I am Sass, Luka's kwami."

"Luka? But I just..."

"He was akumatized. And you know him the best. You should be the one to assist in saving him."

What? No, I shouldn't be the one to help; I'll mess up!

"I'm not the one you want." I gave one last sigh before looking down.

"That's weird. I remember him asking me to give this bracelet to Y/N L/N before he was akumatized. Are you not her?" Its voice began to get worried as he thought he had the wrong person.

"I- I am... But- Why me?"

"I can't tell you that. But trust me when I say that we need you." He dropped the bracelet on the table, leaving me with the option to pick it up.

I stared at it for a couple of seconds before picking it up and slipping it on my wrist.

"SASS, SCALES SLITHER!"
