Alex thought back to that night. The team had been secretly camped outside an enemy base. They had been working on mission 4-2-7. An object of great power was at the enemy base. They were just doing recon, then Garth had hit the emergency button. Emergency flares and radio signals went off. The enemy spotted them quickly. The team only had moments to run before chaos erupted. Gunfire, soldiers, snow, the rest was just a blur to Alex. When the team made it back to the ship, Michael was waiting. He whispered something to Shaun who wrapped Alex in a tight hug and didn't let go.
Alex remembered screaming that they needed to wait for Aaron, but the ship took off despite her protests. She couldn't get out of Shaun's grip. Then Michael had told her that Aaron's vitals had flatlined soon after the fighting started.
But if the chip that took the vitals was removed..... Aaron could still be alive.
This thought hit Alex hard. Her little brother, the one she spent her whole life protecting, alive.
A pressing need to find Aaron came to Alex. She had to get more information from Mr. Jameson. The fastest way to do that was to break out now and find him. So, Alex did.
Breaking out was more difficult than it had been last time, but Alex was also a lot better than last time. The guards at her door were no match for Alex. She had a mission, find Mr. Jameson and figure out what happened to Aaron and where he was now.
That was easier said than done. Alex wasn't used to the space station they were on. Clearly it was a newer version of the station Alex and Aaron had blown up last time, but it was different enough to confuse Alex.
Eventually she found the control center. Alex patched Griffin into the system and from there the rest was easy. Griffin locked down the station and cleared a path to Mr. Jameson and from there to the docks.
With most of the hired goons trapped behind the metal walls of the station it was relatively easy for Alex to get to Mr. Jameson.
Mr. Jameson had guessed what was happening when he got locked in his room and none of his override codes worked. He didn't know that Alex thought Aaron was dead. He knew that if her emotions got high she was more like a machine and even with his updated security, which he had greatly exaggerated, Alex would get out.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid." he muttered, trying his overide codes again.
A door opened behind him.
"They're not going to work." Alex said, "Now tell me everything you know about Aaron."
Mr. Jameson, a short pudgy man, turned around.
"I'll tell you, if you promise not to blow up my space station."
Alex nodded, "Just talk and I'll leave."
"We found Aaron a few months ago. He had been captured by some organization on Rythia. They were using him as a gladiator. We got him back and began studying him again."
Alex scoffed and muttered, "You mean torturing."
Mr. Jameson ignored Alex and continued, "We have him in a facility on Kithonia."
Alex stared at Mr. Jameson. Kithonia was one of the central planets.
She nodded, "Don't come after us again, or I will finish you."
Alex hurried to the docks. She stole the most expensive shuttle and escaped.
Soon after, she met up with Griffin and expertly landed the ship. She got out, then ejected the ship into space.
Elise was elated to find Alex safe. Shaun was furious at her for risking her life. Michael and Marco were curious why she was acting so calm. And Garth was just confused.
