Chat Noir hopped away from the Dupain-Cheng bakery with a stern expression on his face.

"How could she just ignore me like that?" Marinette had brushed him aside as if there wasn't an Akuma running around in hopes to regain her love and attention. "I'm CHAT NOIR." He huffed as he finally reached his bedroom window. De-transforming and relaxing a bit would be the best plan of action since he was still mad at Ladybug for being unconcerned about the civilian.

He started to wonder if the two of them ever got along. It was clear that Ladybug never dealt with people she didn't like, going as far as to ruin their romances, but he was somewhat thankful that she had broken the trance Lila had put on him. He came to the conclusion that Ladybug couldn't be bothered about Marinette's safety because of some obscure reason and decided it would be best to leave the hero side of him behind for the rest of the day. If Ladybug was right, Nino would be the next person he'll be going after and she had probably already handed him his Miraculous.

"Adrien." A knock sounded at his door.

"Come in Nathalie." He called, staring at the rock wall.

In walked Nathalie with her heels clicking on the cold, hard floor. She silently handed him the next week's schedule and glumly walked out of the room.

Adrien quickly unfolded the piece of paper and noticed immediately that there would be no school for the next couple of weeks until the heroes ensured the safety of the civilians. He searched online and ended up on the LadyBlog.

From Alya's sources, the Parisian school board has never had any regulations for a multiple-day Akuma attack and decided to use some extra days and put them towards student's safety. Along with this, multiple other statements have been made by Mayor Bourgeoise.

"We depend on our heroes from this point on, placing our entire faith in their hands. With their help, we can return to normalcy. Along with this, and the agreement of surrounding cities, I am placing a curfew for your own safety. An Akuma victim is on the loose and now is not the time to be playing games with your life. Anyone caught outside past 8:00 PM will be fined $1,000."

Adrien scoffed. What would a curfew do, he rolled his eyes. If everyone was at home, then Chaton Triste would be able to locate and capture each and everyone one of the hostages he plans on taking. Along with this, panic will spread like wildfire. He couldn't leave the thought alone and decided to transform again and call his lady. The phone rang for a while before her voicemail sounded. She had either de-transformed or ignored him, and that wasn't a risk he wanted to take.

With the use of his baton, he sprung towards Nino's house. It wasn't long before he tapped on the Lahiffe's window. When he noticed that Nino was okay, his heart slowed a bit. He casually talked to the teenager before dropping the big question.

"Did Ladybug come by?" He rested his head on his hand and leaned forward. "She drop anything off?"

When Nino shook his head in confusion, Chat quickly excused himself and bolted from the boy's house. Maybe she started with Alya, he tried to convince himself. Of course, the Ombre-haired girl hadn't seen Ladybug up-close and personal either and he was left to believe that she was at his house. He wasn't there... But wouldn't she try to contact me if she couldn't find a civilian?  She wasn't there when he arrived either and couldn't find any trace that she had been.

"What the hell?" He ran his gloved hands through his hair, trying to put the pieces together. She first refused to give Marinette a Miraculous, doesn't come to check on her with me, and then decides that she won't follow through with her plan, instead disappearing and leaving the possible hostages defenseless. One last hope surged through his mind as he left his room again and headed towards the bakery... Again.

He was only a few blocks away when he heard a cry. It was more of a scream for help mixed with a gasp of shock. He followed the sound, it was the direction of Marinette's place. As he got closer, he realized that it was Marinette's mother. He landed silently on the roof and used his secret knock.

"Hello?" He tried to disguise the worry in his voice with confidence. When he didn't get an answer, he opened the trapdoor which was mysteriously unlocked and intruded.

Marinette's parents stumbled back and grabbed the closest thing they could. In this case, it was some fabric tightly wrapped around a cardboard tube. "Stay away!" Tom pushed his wife behind him and pointed the cardboard at Chat Noir. "What'd you do with her?"

Chat put his hands up and tried to calm the couple down. "It's me, Chat Noir!" He pointed at his ring and slowly walked towards them. "I'm here to talk to Marinette."

A stifled sob came from Sabine at the mention of her daughter's name. "What do you mean?" Her eyes searched his. "She's not here!"

"Impossible, I was here a few hours ago." Chat Noir's eyes widened as he tried to think. "You're sure?"

Tom's patience was wearing thin. "You aren't welcome in this household since you broke my daughter's heart, stop playing games and tell how you knew the Akuma had his eyes on our daughter and didn't think protect her?"

It was Chat's turn to be angry. "I tried!" He tightened his fists, his claws digging into the suit's fabric. "He said he would go to her last, so I talked to Ladybug and she told me to leave her alone until the day came that he would go after her! She said 'Oh, now way the villain would go through the list backward' and so I said 'give her a Miraculous!' and she said-"

"It doesn't matter what she said." Sabine stomped out from behind her husband and grabbed the bell around the hero's neck bringing his face closer to hers. "You listen to me. I don't care what you've done to offend us in the past." Tom tried to intervene but she turned around, pulling Chat Noir with her. She glared her husband down and returned to the conversation. "Stop blaming others for the problems that you're facing and march into that tower. You will demand my daughter back and you will not leave until you either have her safe in your arms or have devised some sort of plan to get her out. Now."
