"Why do you like me, Felix?"

A growl rumbled from the back of my throat. How dare she use that name. "You've asked enough questions for now. I have to go check on Chat Noir's progress." I turned to leave but was pulled away from the door.

"Stop it, it's not like you care about what he does!" Marinette was strangely strong and managed to keep me in the room. "Are you like this even when you're Felix?"

"Marinette," I warned. "We're done with this conversation. Felix doesn't exist. He's been replaced." Roughly, I shoved her to the ground with my head tilted away from her. I couldn't dare check if her face showed disappointment.

After locking her in her room, for the time being, I walked back to the broadcast system. Who knew how I managed to get the mechanics of it working with just yarn. "Oh Chat," I teased. "I see you've managed to complete most of your tasks in the right order, and on time."

Some of the hero's assignments were physical tasks like completing a set of parkour up a wall to get to the next stage. Obviously, he was too afraid of the consequences to use outside resources like his baton. The most recent challenge, however, that required that he use his cataclysm, rendering his magic useless.

I chuckled lowly. "The little kitten is safe still and I believe you deserve a treat!" I jumped out of the nearest window and using the newly woven yarn as steps, gracefully walked down a twisting set of stairs.

Chat Noir was suspicious of every step I took, and I applaud his carefulness. "What do you mean a treat?" He pulled his baton out from behind his and stood in a defensive position. With careful eyes, he watched the bottom of my cane, making sure it didn't hit the ground and take control of the yarn. "Watch it." He hissed as I got closer.

Smirking, I twirled the heavy metal in my hands, probably the only thing other than my suit made out of straight-up yarn. It was strong enough to endure any beating I gave, and thanks to all of those fencing classes that Adrien made me take with him, I was able to utilize the cane as a saber. "I'm sure you're panicking, watching your time click down before I reveal who you are, but listen to me." My cane clanked the floor and yarn quickly rose and wrapped itself around Chat Noir's feet.

In anger, he tried to call his cataclysm, but he couldn't. I had finally managed to declaw the cat. The most efficient way to fight the heroes was to tire them out so that they couldn't fight efficiently. Chat Noir resulted in trying to cut the yarn with his sharp claws, but every time one string broke, two appeared in its place.

"You can't save Kitten because she doesn't need saving." I pointed in the general direction of the tower. "She doesn't want to be saved." I lied. "She's happier than she's protected from the outside rather than specifically from me because I give her what she needs."

"But that doesn't make a person happy!" He shouted in frustration. "You know, this is the second time she's been captured and locked in some sort of tower, and I have to say, it's getting old." Chat Noir scoffed. "You think being trapped, all alone, and wondering when you'll ever be able to return to normal life is okay?" The cat tried to shuffle out of the restraints but that resulted in more yarn. "You know Adrien Agreste, right? Was he happy with how his life was? Study, study, model, barely get food, and I-he was trapped inside for the majority of his life after that accident." The argument was getting personal but that mangy cat didn't seem to care. "So don't you dare try to convince me that she is happy up there, secluded and in the dark." He finished with snarled teeth and heavy breathing.

I laughed at his outburst. There was only one reason to get this passionate about someone else. I knew the real answer, but if I was right, then saying this would make it even better. "You and Adrien must be dating I swear." I crossed my arms and laughed. "One thinks so highly of the other, and the other one can't stop talking of hardships that he never faced." I giggled manically.

Chat Noir just looked at me with a relieved face. He probably figured that as long as I assume anything other than Adrien is Chat Noir, then he would put up with that accusation. "So what?" I could tell he didn't really know how to face loving himself like that. "What's that got to do with anything?"

"Nothing really. Just makes everything a lot more interesting." I tapped the ground and the yarn around Chat's feet went limp. "Well, you have less than a minute to escape so I'll tell you this." I pointed accusingly at his face and made sure he was paying attention to me. "I don't want to see you here again for the next twenty-four hours. If you come before this time tomorrow, I will make sure that Marinette is never found." I thought of another empty threat. "We'll elope and not anyone in Paris will stop us."

The shock on his face was just what I had wanted. Of course, I would never run away without my Kitten's consent, and the chances of getting that were low...

"Fine." Chat Noir extended his baton and flew over the gates of the park.

Well, that was easy, I thought to myself. Sprinting, I found my way back to Marinette's room in excitement. "Guess what?" I laughed as I opened the door.

The room, as far as I could tell, was empty. The kitten had left me behind and managed to escape. The anger inside me bubbled, almost getting to the point of becoming aggression, but then I picked up on heavy breathing coming from under the bed. Quickly my blood cooled and I regained my composure.
