"What are we going to Paris for Mother?" I asked as we walked towards the company car.
"I've already told you." Mother sighed as she handed her bags to the driver and got into the limo. "You are going to start new somewhere else. You've been so depressed lately, and I think that seeing your cousin and old room will be beneficial to your emotional health. Also, it's been a while since I've seen some old friends, and I would like to see them before I'm too old to even go to the bathroom on my own, so..."
"But we literally went a couple of months ago. I don't think anyone there likes me." I said recalling my past antics.
She smiled and placed a hand on mine after I had settled into my seat. "Please give this a chance. I'm sure that they've all forgiven you in their own way. Besides, you have to be a man! That's what your father would have said in a situation like this."
I gave her a weak smile back and pulled my hand back slowly. I had a feeling this would be a long ride, so I plugged in my earbuds and closed my eyes.
Everything went by very quickly, and before I knew it, I was engulfed in a hug. He released me and then gave my mother the same hug. My cousin had greeted me with a smiling face and quickly taken my luggage from my hands.
"I'm so happy to see you, Felix!" He said with the same energy from months ago. "I can't wait for you to join me at school!"
"Of course... Same here." I cocked an eyebrow at his enthusiasm. He really can't tell that my life at his school won't be as amazing as he makes it seem. "Well, let's get going." I motioned in the direction of the car and started walking.
Adrien followed me and ran ahead to open the doors for me and my mother. His childish grin sparkled and glowed.
Not too far away stood the same woman from the last visit. Her raven and red hair were pulled back into a tight bun. In her hands, a tablet was on. She handed my mother the tablet and stepped back into the driver's seat.
"Hello Amelie, Felix," he said in his usual stern tone. "My assistant Nathalie will drive you over to our house. At the moment, I am away on a business trip so feel free to ask her in case you need anything." He blinked and waited for a response.
"Oh, Gabriel!" Mother covered her mouth and laughed. "Why so tense! It's great to see you again!" She handed the tablet over to me and smiled.
"Hello, Uncle Gabriel." I greeted him with a neutral expression and continued. "I'm very grateful that you've decided to welcome us into your home again. Please know that I have learned from my past actions, and won't put my wonderful cousin in such a dangerous position again."
"Good to hear. I hope you live up to your words." He looked at his watch and began his goodbyes. "I'm on a time crunch, so please excuse me. Goodbye." The screen faded into a black screen, as I handed it back to Ms. Nathalie.
"Anyways Felix, father had your old room cleaned up yesterday so you don't have to worry about much. All you have you do is set up your closet the way you'd like and then we can walk around the city after my photoshoot." Adrien held up his hand.
Confused, I brought it down and shook it loosely. "Okay, thanks for telling me." I thought about what my old room looked like. "Do you know if they moved anything around?" I asked.
"Well I know they put in a new bed and furniture, but any decorations and toys that you might have left behind should be in the same place you left them. Father made it clear that nothing was to be disposed of, just in case." Adrien rubbed the back of his neck.
A couple of minutes later, they pulled up to the Agreste Mansion. The gates opened automatically and they all exited the limo.
"Please go on ahead. I will have your luggage delivered to your rooms in a few minutes. Dinner should be ready in around seven-thirty. I will call you down." Ms. Nathalie unlocked all the doors and walked to the trunk.
"Okay, thanks, Nathalie!" Adrien said before ushering me into the house. He led me up the spiral staircase and to a room. "This is your room! Remember?"
"Yes, Adrien." I looked at the closed door and reminisced. "It's only been six years, and even then, it is hard to forget the place where you've made the most memories." I patted his shoulder and turned the doorknob. As soon as I opened the door, the room seemed so familiar yet different at the same time. The furniture was all new and modern. White and blue were clearly the main color scheme, as it had been six years before. A desk with multiple computers had been added to the mix, as well as a queen-sized bed. The sheets were a striking blue with grey and black strips that crossed in a diagonal formation.
"You look surprised Felix." Adrien pointed out. "Do you like it?" He seemed worried.
"No worries Adrien." I walked into the room and turned to the nightstand. There, sat a frame of my mother, father, and me as a child. It pained me to look at it, but I decided that I shouldn't make a big deal. Next to it was a box of tissues. Haha, you've had your fun, I thought. "It's all very nice. Thank you."
