I slammed the door behind me and dramatically plopped myself on the bed. Maybe this time I really would get akumatized. I grabbed the white kitty and traced over the stitching like I had done so many times before.

Hello Chaton Triste, I'm Hawkmoth and with the powers I've granted you, you will be able to get those who never understood your true worth to bow down to you. A voice invaded my thoughts and tried to convince me to succumb to the negativity. You only need to give me the Miraculous.

"Okay Hawkmoth, I'll take this deal," I mumbled as I felt darkness envelope my entire body. I expected to feel some sort of fulfillment afterward, but I still felt empty and cold. I examined the outfit I had on and recognized it immediately. The design Marinette had done a while back. The design that helped me realize who it was that I loved. Cane in hand, I clicked my tongue against the roof of my mouth and fiddled with the glove on my wrist. "Lovely."

I strutted out of my room and towards the front entrance. A series of gasps sounded as I made my way through the front gates and hopped on top of the nearest building. For extra dramatic effect, I took a seat on the edge and dangled my feet. I was lost in this surprisingly large world. Without a goal, without a worry, without her trust, my soul felt adrift.

POV CHANGE (To Marinette)

An alert popped up on the LadyBlog about a villain right outside the Agreste Mansion. My immediate thought was probably another guy who was jealous of Adrien. With a long sigh, I transformed into Ladybug and was on my way to save Adrien from another villain. When I arrived, I could've sworn I'd seen Chat Noir sitting on a rooftop. Quickly, I realized that the cat-shaped silhouette was a white cat, not black.

That was when I started to panic. It hadn't been that long since I had to defeat Chat Blanc which was an akumatized version of Chat Noir and now I had to face another cat villain? Who are you grumpy cat? I quietly swung over to the villain was patiently called out to them. "Hey, are you Chat Blanc?" I questioned them.

Excitedly they turned to face me and sighed with disappointment. "You sounded like someone else."  The white-suited man stood on his feet and trudged over to me.

Before he could get too close, Chat Noir appeared out of nowhere and twirled his baton in defense. "Woah, cats are very territorial my fellow feline." He smirked at the villain. "She's mine."

"You can have her." The man shrugged. "I..." He looked at the yarn on his cane and it formed into a weird-looking plush cat. "I only love her."

What? Does he only love the doll?  I shook my head in confusion and tried to get a more clear answer. "The doll or-"

"No. The girl who made the doll... She goes by Lady Luck sometimes... Her name is-"

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" I asked.

A sad smile was quickly replaced by a wide, cocky smirk. In a matter of seconds, the villain managed to sneak past Chat Noir and flick my hair. "Ding ding ding. Looks like we have a winner." He jumped as Chat Noir swung his baton and landed right on the ledge of the building. "Not that it matters anyway. She hates me now." He took a step back and wobbled a bit. "Time for Chaton Triste (That's pronounced Sha-ton Tree-st) to say goodbye." With a wide grin on his face and tears coming from his eyes, he fell towards the ground.

Chat and I dove after him but realized we were too late. He didn't fall at all. It was a diversion. The two of us swooped back up to the building and tried to see if he had gotten far.

"Damn it." Chat hissed in frustration. "Where the hell-"

"Oh, I'm still here." Chaton Triste wiped the tears from his face and clapped his hands in delight. "I'm quite reasonable actually, so I'll cut you a deal." He put an arm around Chat Noir and me. "Bring me Adrien Agreste, Nino Lahiffe, Alya Cesaire, and Marinette Dupain-Cheng and I won't wreak havoc on your precious city." He proclaimed in a sing-song voice.

Chat Noir and I looked at each other in panic. This was to most organized Akuma victim we had yet to see, as well as the fact that he wanted civilians involved.

"Why?" Chat Noir challenged. "What'd they do to you?" He shook off Chaton Triste and shoved him away from me.

"Well, it was Nino's idea to get the old me, Felix, to tell my idiot cousin, Adrien, that this girl, Marinette, liked him because he wouldn't figure it out anyway."

"So why'd you do it?" I pushed.

"Because of my last visit to Paris, I found out she liked him. This time around, I found out she's my childhood crush who I've wanted to confess to for a while. Obviously, I don't have a chance with her if she likes Adrien so I said, well, screw it."

So that's why Felix was so desperate for my forgiveness today... Wait, does that mean that I'm why he got Akumatized? A million questions swarmed through my head at an alarming speed.

"Wait but why Alya? You never mentioned her in your story." Chat and I quizzed.

Chaton Triste scoffed in amusement. "Have you seen her? She is like Marinette's second mother. The girl is freaking terrifying." He twirled the cane around before pounding it on the ground. "That's why I'll show her whose boss before she can bring me down." He surveyed the ground below and swung his cane side to side. He seemed to be looking for something. Before I knew it, he was jumping below to the nearest park.

"Wait!" We jumped after him.

He walked to the middle of the park and swung his cane, hitting the fountain. It crumbled into dust. "I'll let you in on another secret..." Chaton Triste turned to face us and pointed to the mask. "I'm not being controlled by Hawkmoth anymore."
