The Elementals

Chapter I

"Olivia..." someone says "OLIVIA. WAKE UP'' I jump awake and look at the time. 7:45 "dang it I'm going to be late for my first day," I say Not like it matters that much it's probably better, then at least I don't have to deal with people making fun of me again I think to myself "Olivia Get up right now and get dressed You will not be late on your first day!" My mother says in a harsh tone. "Sorry, mom I'm getting dressed right now" I yell back down the stairs. "Ok it's time to get out of bed at least I was smart enough to pick out my outfit the day before," I think out loud "If you're going to get bullied you should at least look cute doing it"

5 minutes later I come running down the stairs dressed for school, hair brushed and done in my normal style, and makeup packed in my bag, I'll do it in the bathroom before school. "You don't have enough time to eat before you leave so I made you a healthy smoothie that you can drink on the way there," My mother says "also your older sister is driving you to school" "WHAT.. no... why can't you drive me to school," I say. "Because I have places to be and it just makes sense now go, quickly," She said in a rushed tone. "Fine, I guess I will go," I say as I sulk out the door. HONK "hurry up loser not all of us want to be late to school you know," My sister says. "I'm coming," I say as I run to the car and shut the door. "Can you at least try not to embarrass me this year?" she says. "Whatever," I say. We ride the rest of the way in silence.

10 minutes later we arrive at school "Oh good it's only 8:20 we still have 10 minutes bye" My sister says as she jumps out of the car and joins up with her friends. I slowly get out of the car and rush to the bathroom before I find anyone who is going to make fun of me. The warning bell rings. "Shit ok I guess that will have to do," I say as I pack up to get to my first class. The bell goes off right as I walk into class and sit in my assigned seat. Luckily it is with my friends. "Hey, Olivia cutting it close again aren't you." My best friend, Violet says. "You know me I always have to be right on time," I say. "More like almost late," Violet says. "Ha. Ha," I say sarcastically. "Hey, how have you three been though I feel like it's been so long," I say to my other three friends. "Oh you know the usual," My friend, Alice says. "Is that your way of saying you've been practicing your elemental powers without rubbing it in my face?" I say sarcastically "yeah..." she says almost apologetically. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad," I say "How has it been going with that" "Oh you know, It's been going ok," She says. "That's good," I say "What about you Kylie and Kayden?" "Umm you know We are improving," Kylie says. "Yeah, we are trying to figure out how we can use our elements to work together." "Oh that's cool," I say. Kylie and Kayden are twins and they discovered that their elements are Life and Death which makes sense because those two are usually found together.

"Attention, Students I know everyone is excited to see their friends again. But we need to get going with the first-day activities" My homeroom teacher says. "Ugh," There is a collective sigh from all of the students in the class. "I know but it is required by the school," He says. "Olivia, Can you pass out the schedules to your fellow students" "Of course," I say under my breath. "Are you sure she can handle that sir she will probably mess that up just like her parents messed up when they had her 14 years ago" a girl from the back says. She and her friends start laughing. "IVY, That is enough! We will not permit that kind of behavior in this classroom" My teacher says. Ivy and her friends continue giggling. I start passing out schedules. I cringe when I see the next schedule I have to pass out. I start walking towards Ivy's table and as I get there her friend Mackenzie sticks her foot out and trips me. After I fall to the ground I just hear the entire class erupt into laughter. I quickly get up and pick up all the papers I dropped. I finish handing out all and quickly sit back down at my table waiting for the class to be over so I can escape this class.

RING Finally the class is over me and my friends quickly pack up and walk out of class. "Hey Olivia, don't listen to them you will figure out your element soon," Violet says "Yeah," Alice says "And when you do It will be amazing I know it will" "yeah sure," I say. "Let's compare schedules," Kayden says, trying to break the tension. "Yeah forget the drama of homeroom, what classes do you all have?" Kylie says. "Yeah Let's compare classes," I say "Ok First period what do you all have... I have English" "Same," Violet Says "Yay," I say "anyone else?" "I do," Kylie says. "Yay!" Me and Violet say. "No, I have drama for first," Kayden says. "Oh Me too," Alice says. "At least I know someone in that class and won't be alone" "Ok, Second period I have Music," I say. "Me too!" Alice says "What about everyone else? "No I have English," Kayden says "I have drama," Kylie says "I also have drama," Violet says. "Cool," I say "What about Third period? I have Algebra 2" ''same," Kylie and Kayden say. "Hey, we do too," Violet and Alice say. "Yay We all have that class," I say. "4th period, I have history" "I have English," Alice says. "Oh cool, we have History as well," Kayden and Kylie say. "Oh I have Biology," Violet says. "I have Bio for Fifth Period," I say "Same" Kylie says. "Oh I have History," Violet says. "Me too!" Alice says. "I have Study Hall," Kayden says. "Ok Sixth period I have study hall," I say "Me too," Violet says. "Same" Kylie says. "And I have Biology for sixth," Alice says. "Me too," Kayden says. "Well at least we all have some classes together," I say "Yeah, But we should head to our first period now," Violet says. We all say goodbye and head to our first periods.
