Olivia's POV The rest of the week is pretty much the same but Violet keeps acting weird all week. It's only after biology so I decide to ask her what is going on in that class because obviously, something is going on in there that is bothering her. "Hey Violet, can we talk today after school?" I ask, it's Friday so my mom should let me go over to her house if Violet will let me. "Sure, about anything in particular?" She asks, seemingly confused. That's good I guess maybe I'm just making stuff up in my head. "Umm yeah just about like the first week and what's been going on with you we haven't had enough time to talk lately I just want to catch up with my bestie," I say with a smile. I miss her, I know it's only been a week and we have been talking but we have been really distant this past week and I know she has noticed it. "Haha ok," She says calmly but she is smiling. "Why don't you come over to my house after school today and we can talk then," "that would be great," I say looking forward to it. The rest of the day could not possibly go any slower but I noticed that Violet isn't nearly as upset at lunch as she usually is which makes me feel better. Eventually, the day finally ends. I say goodbye to my friends and wait for my mom. As if planned, my mom and Violet's mom pull up at the same time so we decide now is the best time to ask. "I'll ask my mom and you can ask yours," I say. "Great idea," Violet says. "Mom," I say as I put my backpack in the car. "Yes?" she says questioningly I can tell she already knows what is coming. "Can I go to Violet's later?" I ask. "Of course you can remember to come home for dinner ok?" She says. "OK, It looks like Violet also asked, I will be right back," I say as I shut the door and rush over to their car. "So?" I ask Violet. "She said it's ok, but she wants to know if you are staying for dinner or not," Violet says happily. "No sadly my mom says I need to come home for dinner but we will still have a few hours," I say "I'm gonna go home and change I'll text you when I'm walking over to your house ok?" "Yes, that sounds good," she says. We are both getting more excited. No matter how many times we hang out we still get excited to get to hang out. I mean come on she is my best friend. Anytime hanging out with her is a lot of fun. "Ok, bye," I say quickly. We exchange a short hug and I rush back to my car and jump in. My mom can tell by how I'm acting it was a yes so we drive home and I quickly go inside to change and drop off my stuff before texting Violet that I am walking over and should be there in like 1-2 minutes.

I get there and knock on the door, her mom opens up the door, "Hi Olivia, Violet is in her room," She says. "Thank you," I say. I walk up the stairs. Her house is a very similar set up to mine, it's two floors and has two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs but the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom are all downstairs along with another bathroom. I rush up the stairs to Violet's room. She was sitting there waiting for me. "Olivia, Finally I'm so happy we can hang out for a bit," she says super excited. "Me too, It's been way too long since we have been able to just chill and hang out as best friends," I say. We spend the next hour just talking about random stuff and hanging out in her room. Then I ask her about the first week of school. She is answering questions and asking me questions but then we get to the hard part. "Hey, I've noticed you've been quite stressed out after your biology class, what's going on in that class," I ask calmly. She sighs and begins to talk "Ivy is in that class and didn't want to bring it up because I didn't want to stress you out but I have been stressing out about not telling you because you're my best friend," she says I can tell she feels guilty but I'm not mad at her. "As long as she isn't bothering you I'm not going to stress out about it ok?" I say as calmly as I can. I felt a bit bad that she was keeping stuff from me because she was worried about my reaction. "Look, we don't need to keep secrets ok? I trust you and you can trust me with anything" "I know you are right I was just worried I know how you feel about her" Violet says I can tell she is relieved but not completely like there is something she is leaving out. "Is that everything?" I ask, hoping she will bring it up on her own. If not I'll leave it. I don't want to push it too much. "Yeah, that's everything," Violet says and smiles at me reassuring me that she is fine. "Ok," I say. I decide to drop that topic feeling that some of the tension was relieved. We hang out for another 2 hours soon enough, it is 6:30 and I have to go home. I say goodbye to Violet and her mom and walk back to my house. My mom greets me as I walk in. "Hey did you and Violet talk out whatever was going on," she asks as she is putting the finishing touches on dinner. "Yeah we did," I say I am relieved and can finally stop stressing myself out. "That's good I knew you two just needed to talk," She says, "also your sister decided to go out with friends so I thought you and I could just eat and talk" "Yeah that sounds like fun I'll catch you up on my first week," I say. Most people my age don't like talking to their parents but my mom and I have always been close because my father died when I was really little. My mom and I talk and I catch her up on everything going on. I know she would never admit it but I think I am her favorite because my older sister is shallow like one of those popular girls but I have always made an effort to hang out with my mom even though it's not that "cool" I love her and she has raised me. Eventually, we finish dinner and I head up to my room after wishing her a good night and I text Violet good night, happy that the first week is over and I have two days off from the hell hole known as my school.
