"Come on guys we are going to be late" I say. "Where was that energy this morning when you were almost late to class?" Violet says. "Like I said earlier almost late isn't late" I say "Yeah whatever, anyways we are here" she says "let's go" Kylie says. We walk in and almost instantly see them in the classroom. "Ugh can I have one class without them like seriously" I say "look we can ignore them come on let's sit over here" Kylie says. We pick a seat all the way in the back on the opposite side of the room from the bullies. "Ok class, let's get started" Our teacher says. "I'm assuming we already know each other because you have been going to the same school for a few years now so we are skipping the icebreakers" I breathe a sigh of relief I always hated ice breakers. It's just another excuse for people to embarrass me in front of my classmates. I still wish I knew why I haven't found my element and animal at this point. I would be happy with "Come on guys we are going to be late," I say. "Where was that energy this morning when you were almost late to class?" Violet says. It's just another excuse for people to embarrass me in front of my classmates. I still wish I knew why I haven't found my element and animal at this point. I would be happy with anything even if it was in the lowest group so at least I had something. I never like the ranking system because people like Ivy who got one of the main four think they are better than everyone else even though their elements are extremely basic. I've never understood why those were the best elements to get. I mean if you think about it life and death is so much cooler than messing with fire. Maybe I'm just biased because everyone I've met who has those elements acts like a complete bitch. I don't know whatever I just wish I could figure out what is wrong with me.

"Olivia" I hear someone say. I feel a tap on my shoulder and then I snap out of it. "Olivia you were zoning out again," Violet says in an annoyed tone. "Sorry," I say. "Look class is over, we should head to our next class but you need to stop doing that," She says, still annoyed. "I know," I say. Although I don't know how to control it I just get lost in thought and can't help it. Just another thing that is wrong with me. "You are lucky it was just an Introduction today but you need to pay attention," She says. "I Know," I say in a pretty harsh tone. "Sorry I'm just frustrated today," I say a bit more apologetically. "I know," she says "I could never be mad at you and I know being here is hard on you because of the awful people" "I just worry about you because you can't give them another reason to make fun of you, They are bad enough as it is," She says. "Yeah you are right I will try to avoid spacing out as much as possible," I say "Let's get to class, we all have to get to the arts hall of the school which is on the other side of school" "Yeah come on we should go now so we don't have to run," Kylie says. "Yeah come on," I say with a smile on my face. We walk through the halls. We have 10 minutes to get to each class but luckily it only takes 5 if you don't get distracted.

When we get to the arts hall we meet up with Alice who was already waiting for us. "ALICE" Violet yells. "Dude you don't need to alert the entire school that you are calling for Alice," Kylie says "I know I just want to make sure she sees us," Violet says. Alice sees us and waves us over to her; we walk over to her. I see that she is standing in between the music and drama rooms. I'm glad those are right next to each other that will make meeting up after class a lot easier. "Hey, how was English" Alice asks. "It was ok just introduction to the course crap, You know the norm," Kylie says. "Oh did you have to do Icebreaker because we didn't?" Alice says "No we didn't," Violet says, "I think the teachers just don't care anymore because we have all been going to school together since 6th grade," Kylie says. "Yeah, I also think they are sick of hearing certain students brag about their amazing elements," Violet says. She puts that last part in air quotes while rolling her eyes. I mean I would too because the people with the main four elements are so annoying. Alice checks her phone "Oh we have one minute we should go in" We say bye to each other, Alice and I walk into music, and Kylie and Violet walk into drama. We look up at the board and in big letters on the board it says "THERE IS NO SEATING CHART FOR RIGHT NOW SIT WHERE YOU WANT". That's good I hate seating charts. "Oh, thank goodness I was worried that we would be put in groups," Alice says. "Really?" I ask "Yeah we had seating charts in drama and we were put in groups and I was in a group with a bunch of people I wasn't super close with" "Oh I haven't had any classes with a seating chart yet I hope to continue that because I hate seating charts" "Yeah me too"

"Now that everyone has found their seats these will be your seats for the semester Unless I have to move you or you talk to me about moving" Our teacher states. "Well, that's good," Alice whispers in a very quiet tone. "Yeah" I whisper back. We do our signature fist bump under the table. Our group has a signature fist bump that we created years ago when we all became super close. We have a thing that if you want to join the group you have to learn the fist bump first. We don't have anyone trying to join our little group though so it hasn't come up. "My name is Craig," Our teacher says "Now let's go over class rules," He says. "Wait sir Shouldn't we do icebreakers?" Mackenzie says. At that point, I nearly throw up. I know she did that on purpose to try to embarrass me. "No Ice breakers are not required for year 10's and up because you all should know each other" Mr. Craig says "In fact, they are discouraged because they waste time and it just gives certain students a chance to brag about their elements" He looks directly at her as he says it. "Oh, right of course Sir," Mackenzie says in an almost shy tone. I have to bite my lip so I don't laugh out loud. "Any other questions before we continue?" Our teacher asks. Our class collectively shakes their heads no. "Ok back to the rules." He says. "The first and most IMPORTANT rule in this class," He says the word important with a very strict or harsh tone emphasizing it. "There will be no bullying or making fun of others in this class. This is a fun class and I want it to stay that way," "If I catch you bullying or making fun of another student I will send you to the office. Bullying is not allowed at all for anything. I know some of you have a false sense of superiority because of your element but you WILL leave that at the door because here we are all equals learning music" You can tell by the words he is emphasizing that she is tired of the constant talk of elements and will not put up with it. "Ok now that we got that out of the way let's continue with the other rules'' He says. The rest of the rules were just the normal things like being respectful and safe, showing up on time, and participating in the lessons or staying on task. "Ok class, This class ends in 3 minutes so you can all get ready to leave but don't get out of your seats until the bell rings. 3 minutes later the bell rings "ok everyone have a good rest of your day" Mr. Craig says.
