Mason's POV
"Alrighty folks! Good bye now, but I sure enjoyed your company, and don't hesitate to stop by when you come back!" Little Miss Sunshine called out as we were walking out. She is one crazy lady...
When we got outside, I immediately sensed something was wrong. I turned back to see if David was sensing it too- an overwhelming smell of humans. More than just the five in our group. David looked just as confused as I was, but before I had time to say anything, an arrow whizzed past me and lodged itself into Rylee's gut.
I shouted for everyone to get back into Miss Sunshine's while I ran over to Rylee. I took the arrow out, and picked her up- she weighed nothing to me- and carried her into the restaurant. I laid her down on a table and looked out of a tiny window. I couldn't see anyone, but then I saw ten dark figures jump out from behind the bushes next to the forest.
I warned everyone, and I saw Dylan take out an elegant, Elvin sword. I saw Miles give Dylan and Daniel a mischievous smile as he raised his double edged blade. Daniel nodded as he took out his bow and knocked an arrow. I looked out the window again- the figures were almost upon us. I told the humans to stay behind the bar counter, but that was when Miss Sunshine came out with a wand.
She went over to Rylee- I had totally forgotten about her- and leaned over her. I watched as rays of golden light shot out from the wand, and I saw Rylee start gasping for air. It was so hard to describe- Rylee's wound just healed, and soon all that was left was a hole in her shirt.
"She should be alright, now," Sunshine smiled.
"I didn't know you were a witch," I narrowed my eyes.
"Magic wrecked my life. I only use it when I have to, but for now I'm going to kill anyone that tries to mess with my customers. My business is failing enough as it is- I don't need bandits ruining my reputation even more."
"Thank you," I said as I looked out the window again.
The bandits were right outside the door, and I backed away as they burst through it. The first one demanded all of our money, but Daniel silenced him with an arrow. That was when all the others, except one, burst to life- they scattered everywhere, and I had to dodge one as he tried to swing at me with his sword.
I looked at the bandit that hadn't moved, and saw him take out a wand. I charged at him- he was out biggest threat- and almost reached him when an unseen force threw me at the wall. I got the air knocked out of me, but I got up and began to Change.
My senses heightened- I could hear Daniel's arrow whizzing through the air, Miles swinging his massive blade, I could hear Dylan's sword- everything. I charged at the wizard again, but this time he didn't even try to aim for me.
Instead, I saw a bolt of lightning hit Miles straight in the chest, causing him to drop his weapon and collapse to the ground. I suddenly felt a surge of adrenaline surge through my veins, and jumped onto the wizard, tackling him to the ground. I bit his neck, and looked up for my next target.
Dylan's POV
I was fighting off two bandits at once when I saw it happen- Miles collapsing on the ground, his face pale as fresh winter's snow. Everything suddenly went silent as I stared a his lifeless body. All I heard was distant shouts and the growls. I couldn't move- my brother was dead- Oh Miles, why couldn't it have been David, or Mason?
I was snapped back into reality when one of the bandit's sword was plunged into my gut. I gasped and looked up at my killer- it was just a human. A bandit that roams the world demanding for money. I didn't fall though- not yet. I felt my remaining energy deplete as I started blindly slashing at both of the bandits.
