Very soon, the pain engulfed me again,
Unfortunately pulling him down with me.
He said it wasn't my fault,
But it was - and I could see.
I told him about my struggles,
About the man's urge for pain.
He gently kissed the scars,
And asked for him not to come again.
I told him that probably wasn't possible,
He said it didn't matter.
He said all he cared was that,
One day, he would watch me from the wedding altar.
It was inevitable:
My life was turning upside down.
But yet he still tried everyday,
To make me feel like a princess in a crown.
He always said that,
"We are in this together".
But he was never the one,
To carry this burden around forever.
As my love for him grew stronger,
The pain did also.
I loved him so much,
But I wouldn't say I was in love though...
