Fading memories

(This part of the story is told from a perspective of a 5 year old girl called Rei and how Rei met Yasashi)

Rei: Mom! Dad! Where are you!?

Why have i been left in the freezing cold woods? When are they going to come back? I'm not old enough to be out here, especially all by myself. I wondered the woods looking for my parents when i found myself a cave to live in, my dad told me if i'm ever lost to find a safe place to stay in until he finds me so this should be a good place for now but where am i going to get food? I start to panic and look around the woods for something edible until i find a man with lime green hair, i hide covering my mouth, what if he's dangerous? What if he wants to kill me? But he could also help me find my parents! I have to take this chance

Rei: Excuse me sir!

He turns around with some sort of weapon in his hands. I instantly regret calling out to him

Rei: Um....I'm in desperate need of help, I can't find my parents and i'm really hungry

He looks at me before putting his weapon away and approaching me

Yasashi: you look malnourished, we need you get you some food as soon as possible

Rei: Food would be nice, thank you sir

Yasashi: please, call me Yasashi

He asks me to hold onto his hand and i trusted him,
He started to use the weapon he had to kill animals and take the fur off them. He then proceeded to make a fire and cook the rabbit he had killed. He taught me a lot of things like how to survive in the woods but i had one question i wanted to ask...

Rei: Will my parents find me out here?

The mans eyes widened but he didn't say anything

It was a gamble to trust this man but i think that gamble was worth it as this man would be the closest thing to a father i'd ever have...
