Fading memories

Growing up

(This part of the story is told bu the perspective of Rei)

Why would he say such a dumb thing? "If i get too crazy or when i'm about to die, then bite my neck with your new power." He's protected me for so long that he can't possibly die right? He's invincible! He's been such a good care taker, better than my dad who left me to die. Yasashi has been acting strangely as of recently though, he keeps going out in the middle of the night and comes back covered in blood but with no animals in his hand like normal... he's talked to me before about how he's not feeling like himself but he seems fine! Or at least, I haven't seen him not be fine. Another man approaches us, I haven't seen another man in a while so i hide behind Yasashi.

Tatsuya: I haven't seen you in a year, we used to be best friends what happened?

Yasashi: Been taking care of a little girl

The man the proceeded to pull out a sharp object but Yasashi did something that i never dreamed him of doing, he stabbed the man and kicked him to the floor killing him. His blood was stained all over him and a psychotic smile was splashed across his face, i was scared and began to cry. He looked down at me and the smile left his face.

Yasashi: I'm so sorry you had to see that my sweet little angel, but he pulled out a weapon and he was going to hurt us. Do you understand?

Rei: Y-yes...

I was scared and I guess it made sense but i guess that's a part of growing up. Yasashi crouched down to me and looked at me with a serious face.

Yasashi: I'm going out to look for some food okay, this is a new area and we don't know how dangerous it is

He smiles at me

Yasashi: Stay here okay? In case you get hurt

Rei: what if you get hurt?

Yasashi: i'll be fine hun,

He then set off to find food as i waited playing with some rocks, next thing i knew i heard loud noises in the distance and see Yasashi limping over to me.
