(This part of the story is told by Yasashi)

I've known Rei for about 3 years now, we've found shelter and a liveable place. But that doesn't mean that living isn't hard, we still have to hunt for our food while the war is going on. I hate the fact this child couldn't have a normal childhood like others, but... neither did I. I'm only 14 and she's 8 but she feels like a daughter to me. I'm gonna try my best to protect her and give her the best possible life she can have. I approached the exit to our shelter when a feel something gently pulling on my arm

Rei: Can i come with you?

Yasashi: Of course you can, my sweet little angel

My sweet little angel, been calling her that since i was 12. Thought i'd give her a proper nickname if i am going to be a father figure to her. I need to work on actually being one since I wasn't raised in the best way after all. But this tomahawk is making me feel crazy... i feel myself slipping away from reality and i feel like it'll effect Rei. I might forget her because i'm slowly losing my memory, i can tell this insanity is going to kill me. I need to teach her something...

Yasashi: Can i teach you something?

She looks at me confused

Rei: Yeah?

Yasashi: if i get too crazy or when i'm about to die, bite my neck with your new power

Rei: You're not going to die, you're too strong to die!

She always knows what to say to make me smile. Her power was revealed when two fangs grew out when her two front teeth fell out, when she bit into her rabbit on her 10th birthday, the rabbit was filled with venom. She could still eat it fine though. I now know what my power is, it's the ability to turn into birds. I could have easily left Rei and go to Japan but.. she is the only family i have that i know is alive... me and her have that much of a connection.
