"They are calling you!" Sadie yelled right next to me as if I couldn't hear her if she talked in a normal tone.

"I know, shut up," I told her, exemplifying how to talk to someone who is inside the same medium size room as you.

She rolled her eyes at me and left the room. Not even a goodbye?

I grabbed the suitcase that I had already stuffed in the morning because, unlike Ezra, who will make us wait one hundred hours, I'm a responsible person.

I joined them downstairs after hearing my mother's useless advice. Does she think I'm going to get attacked by a bear on the beach? We're pretending she didn't make any comment related to Vanessa.

I would lie if I said I hadn't thought about it, but it won't be just the two of us. There's her brother, her best friend, Walt and Ezra. There won't be a chance for us to be alone.

"Hey, guys!" I greeted as I got there, throwing my stuff to the back of Peter's car. "Where's Ezra?"

"I'm here! They got me first because they seem to think I take a lot of time. Go figure." He said between bites on his Nutella sandwich.

"Hi, Will." Vanessa waved from inside the car, motioning for me to get closer. "Come in, or do you prefer to go with Ezra?"

I chose Vanessa. Even if she wasn't in that car, I wouldn't enter Ezra's coated with candy wrapper car. The last time I did it, I got a yellow wrapper glued to my butt for the rest of the day.

"I hope you're ready for a few hours on the road," she warned, knowing I can't be still for long without getting bored. "But I promise, the ride is worth it."

I'm not sure what she meant by that, but I smiled in response. To me, being with her was already worth it. I just wish she'd give in quicker.

"I don't mind it. I'm used to long travels."

Luckily, she'd be up for a deep conversation while we were stuck in this small space.

Was I wrong? Yes.

She just grabbed one of her favourite gossip magazines and ignored my presence completely.

I sighed and leaned back, closing my eyes for a moment. It would be too good if I fell asleep throughout the entire trip. For some crazy reason, that's exactly what happened.

I was slowly awoken from my unconscious state by a warm hand against my cold cheek and another shaking my shoulder.

"Will? Will, wake up." Her silky voice roamed inside my eardrums like a beautiful song.

I grunted but slowly opened my eyes, only to be greeted by the vision of Vanessa leaning towards me, so close. Her thumb caressed my cheek slowly and her eyes found mine, a small smile on her lips. I noted nobody else was inside. Could that be the reason she was closer to me than she'd usually dare?

"I didn't want to wake you up. You looked so peaceful."

"Have we... arrived?" I asked, and she nodded, pulling away, much to my dismay.

"Come on, I want to show you around."

We got out of the car; the others discussing outside. We were in the garage, but when we got out and I could finally see the place, I was shocked. It was small. It was a two-story house with stone walls right beside the beach with most windows turned to the sea. For the Edwards standards, it was small.

I said nothing, simply followed them to the front door. But my shock didn't stop there. As soon as we reached the front, I saw a girl sitting on a bench against the wall, a white suitcase beside her and phone in hand, scrolling.
