Not all the coffee in the world could make me feel better.
I was too damn tired, but couldn't sleep. This is crazy because I went to bed at the same time Kenzie did, and she left much before I woke up to her morning walk to the cafe. Who is crazy enough to walk all that just for coffee. Oh, and the cute waiter, never forget the cute waiter flirting with her.
"Why the frown, Will?" Walt asked, sitting in front of me on the small ebony table on the balcony.
I liked that balcony. The floor was all on white and blue patterns, a few cushioned chairs scattered all over, and a beautiful view of the beach and the sea hitting the shore. The sun was hidden behind the dark clouds, which made everything colder, but it was still a marvellous view.
"It's nothing," I said, rubbing my eyes. "I'm just tired."
"Yeah, I know," he snickered, and I looked at him, confused. "I heard you and Kenzie stayed awake all night."
"Oh, that. It wasn't all night. We just stayed up late watching films."
A small smile appeared on my face. I have to be honest, she's not such an evil company after all. After the film ended, we chatted a little about it. She liked it a lot, even though it was a bit confusing in the end. It made me think if we could talk like that all the time... She told me something about Vanessa; she admitted maybe she was wrong about us. I don't know what made her change her mind, but maybe she realised we were made for each other.
"Watching films? I know what that means, mate," he said.
I looked at him, any trace of a smile gone.
"What the fuck, Walt? It's not like that! You know I like Vanessa," I told him, my tone harsher than I intended.
He shrugged. "I know, I know. I'm just saying. After all, Vanessa doesn't seem interested in a relationship so soon, but Miss Wales doesn't lose much for her in beauty and is very much available."
I rolled my eyes. That's the only thing they think about? I don't want a relationship either unless it is with Vanessa.
"I can't believe you just suggested that."
His smile didn't show any signs of regret. I wasn't expecting that kind of assumption coming from him, from Ezra, yes, not from Walt.
Speaking of the devil, Ezra showed up on the balcony too, laying his pile of food on the table and claiming a sit for himself.
"Guys, this is crazy. Have you seen the fridge?" he asked between bites. "That thing is full of that green girl food. Where am I supposed to get my energy from?"
"You mean... vegetables?" I asked.
"Yeah, that. What are we going to eat for lunch? Where's the meat?"
I rolled my eyes and supported my head in my hand, not giving a shit about lunch. Maybe, if I go back to bed and don't move, it'll be the same as sleeping...
"Oh, you're here" Leah's voice was too loud, followed by her neat figure, dressed to impress as usual "I was looking for you, Ezra. Uh, what are you eating?"
"Man food." Walt joked.
Leah looked completely disgusted. Yet, he sat with us.
"You shouldn't eat that for breakfast. Is that cheese?"
"Marshmallows," he said with his mouth full, showing the inside of his sandwich.
I couldn't help but smile at them. They were such an odd combination.
She spent the next half an hour lecturing him about a healthy lifestyle and what he should and shouldn't eat. He wasn't listening or enjoying it.
Meanwhile, Walt left, and I found myself alone, watching TV in the living room. Vanessa was still asleep, and I hadn't seen Peter yet. I find it funny how easy it is for me to get alone in a house full of my friends. I barely see Walt and Peter throughout the day, and Leah and Ezra are always together.
