" Stop doing that to me! You just can not-"
" How dare you do that to her, Ryan", Sidharth's eyes were red with anger. Shreya hid behind Sidharth, hugging him to life. She shivered as she cried.
Ryan already was on the floor. There was no reason asked. Everything started with punches and Sidharth intended to do the same. He didn't think once before helping Shreya not because she was his wife or he loved her but to keep the promise that he had made to his mother.
Sidharth could feel her arms around his waist and his shirt getting wet. He turned around when she hugged him. He wrapped his arms around her to make her feel comfortable. He, at that moment, didn't think of the bad the woman ever did to him. He didn't like to be around her. Infact he avoided even a single glance at her but she actually wasn't in a condition to be treated that way.
Sidharth kept hugging her and walked up to his car, grabbing a water bottle. He opened the cap and put the bottle near her mouth, " Pani piyo", he said with all the calmness as he caressed her back.
" Are you fine?", Shehnaaz walked up to the unknown woman whom Sidharth had hugged. Shreya looked at Shehnaaz and smiled, nodding her head in a yes. Sidharth had his gaze at Shehnaaz while she chose not to look at him.
"Where do you live?", Shehnaaz asked her. What had been bothering her was how close to her did Sidharth stand. That moment wasn't the one to feel jealous about. She just wasn't being sensible but neither did Shehnaaz want to look bad and as a result, she backed off after not receiving any answer from the lady.
"Hmm? Ghar jaana hai?", Sidharth mumbled to Shreya and she nodded her head in a yes.
Here where Sidharth was busy comforting Shreya, Shehnaaz wasn't at peace at all. She wanted to know who the woman was and above all, why was Sidharth so comfortable with her. Her chain of thoughts was broken when Sidharth called her out, asking her to sit in the car.
Shehnaaz almost ran to grab the seat just beside Sidharth's but she wasn't fast enough as Shreya was already sitting there.
" Who's she baby?", Shreya said to Sidharth.
" A very close friend ", answered Shehnaaz even before Sidharth could open his mouth to speak. She wanted to tell her that she held a really important place in his life as she emphasised the words very and close. Shreya was looked upon with envy.
"Shehnaaz, aage wali gali na", Sidharth confusingly asked. Here was her house! Shehnaaz did not want to leave Sidharth with that woman. " Sidharth pehle inhe chod dete hai na..uske baad you can drop me", she whispered to him from the gap as she sat at the corner of the seat, near the gate.
" Woh mere saath jaegi, she's my wife, Shreya", Sidharth spoke with his voice laced in hesitation. All Shehnaaz's mind could repeat was "my wife". This was when her trance broke again. She knew she couldn't think of a happy life with him. He was a well settled married man and never would he want to take things further. Moreover, Shehnaaz knew how this would ruin their friendship. She felt as if someone stabbed her heart. She could feel a thick lump in her throat which made it too difficult for her to even swallow her own saliva.
"Uhh"
Shehnaaz was definitely trying to speak something but who knew what forbade her. It was the presence of HIS wife and obviously she couldn't speak out. Shehnaaz got down the car and ran like no other. She ran till she reached her house.
