Emma's Perspective:
"Regina? Hey! Can I talk to you?" I ask her a little frantically.
"What's wrong?" She asks curiously.
"So, Mom, Dad and I have been talking and we want to tell Ivy about everything."
Regina looks taken aback, unpleasantly so.
"Everything?"
"Everything. The curse. The Enchanted Forest. My parents."
"Oh." She pulls herself together and nods along. "And why do you need me?"
"Well, she's never going to believe us if we tell her so I was hoping you could help us make a potion or a spell to just insert all the information?"
Regina purses her lips together and raises an eyebrow.
"So, by that you mean, I have to find a spell or make a potion? Miss Swan, I'm not sure I have time for this. In case you've forgotten, I have to look after my son, too." Regina snaps a little.
"I know, Regina. And I get that. But I would love to have Henry a couple days a week to help out. That gives you more time."
"You mean those days where I show up and you end up hungover in bed?" Regina gives one last cold glare to Emma before abruptly turning away and out the door.Your/Ivy's Perspective:
"Enjoying the view?" You call out to a brunette head of hair sitting on a bench by the docks.
She turns around with a smile that equally makes you return the gesture.
"You could say that." She replies as you walk closer to her.
"Mind if I sit?" You ask gently.
"Be my guest." She continues to smile, watching you as you sit, you pretend not to notice.
"So, how's Henry?" You stuff your hands in your pockets.
"He's good. Really good, actually. He really enjoyed you coming along yesterday. He won't stop asking when we'll go out again."
"I'll make myself available."
"Really?"
"Of course! I enjoyed it too. Anything for little Henry and his Mommy." You joke lightly.
Regina grins and you feel your heart explode a little bit as the wind rushes through her hair.
"And how are you?" You ask seriously.
"I'm fine." She brushes it off.
"You don't wanna talk about it?"
Regina exhales heavily, before turning away.
"I can't really."
"That's okay." You back off.
"But I want to." She turns back to you and you feel your breathing hitch slightly.
"Well, what can you tell me? Even if it's the smallest detail. It'll take a bit of the weight away."
Regina scoffs.
Clearly she has a large weight on her conscience.
"What if I told you, I'd made bad decisions in the past? Decisions that I'm not proud of and that people would judge me for- you would judge me for. And I just sometimes wish I could take it all back and be happy. But sometimes I don't know how to be happy. To be fulfilled without making bad decisions." Regina stares off to the distance, deep in thought, before she abruptly shakes it off and purses her lips. "You don't have to say anything."
"I would say that you were human, Regina. I don't judge people on their past. You can be loved; and loved by many. You will discover things to be happy for. And you will be happy. You deserve to be happy. Past decisions don't define us, they just make us who we are right now; and we learn from them."
She looks to you with a look in eye that's almost as if no one has ever been kind to her before. Her eyes glass over slightly and you both smile for a moment.
"Thank you." She mutters.
You smile at her, taking in her features and glancing down to notice a scar on her lip.
Oh, god, that's sexy.
You blush slightly and look back up to her eyes that seem to be staring deeply into yours.
She must've noticed you staring at her lips, though she doesn't seem to mind, it only makes you blush harder.
You suddenly pull yourself out of the trance, knowing it will get awkward in a second.
"Well." You conclude. "I should be going. Dad wants to take me out for a ride in the death trap." You chuckle as you give Regina a final smile. She smiles sharply and you sense she's a little disappointed. Damn it. It's too late now to lie and sit back down. "You know where to find me." You give a short nod and a smile, which see returns.
"Goodbye, Ivy." She replies with a hint of disappointment, though the smile remains fixed.
"Bye, Regina." You call cheerfully as you turn and walk away.
Visibly wincing as you turn your back.
Why couldn't you have just made your move?!"Oh, hey guys!" You announce as you walk in to your parents loft to see both parents, Emma and Henry gathered around the kitchen.
"Ivy!" Henry cheerfully replies, rushing over and giving you a hug.
"Wow. Nice to see you too, little man." You softly rub his head as he clings to your lower body.
"What's going on, guys?" You ask a little skeptically, your family all have weird looks on their faces.
Especially Mom.
"Nothing." Your Mom blurts out, causing you to frown even harder.
David shifts a little awkwardly.
Oh god, something's definitely up.
"We were just playing with Henry." Emma adds cooly.
"Oh, really?" You lean to slightly to gage Henry's reaction. "What kind of game?" You ask curiously.
"A fairytale one!" MM adds with a smile.
"Henry was telling us which fairytale character he thinks we all are." Emma adds in again.
"That sounds super cool, Henry." You smile at him as he grins up at you. "Who am I?"
"You're the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, of course!" He blurts, as if it's obvious.
You chuckle lightly at his little game.
"Oh, of course! How could I forget!" You play along.
"See! I told you she'd believe me!" Henry cheers as he looks back to the others, they seem a little frazzled.
You frown lightly but keep grinning at Henry, it's just harmless fun.
"So, Mary-Margaret and David are Snow White and Prince Charming?" You ask him with a fake gasp, loving the excitement that is radiating off the little guy.
"Yes! And Mr Gold is Rumplestiltskin, and Archie is jimminy cricket and... and you're a princess!" He shrieks as you raises your eyebrows enthusiastically, reacting to his character ideas.
"Wow, Henry!" You gasp exaggeratedly. "I'll never say no to being a princess! Will you be my prince?"
He grins as he nods his head up at you, your heart melts at the sight.
"But I'm already Mom's little Prince, too."
"Oh, you are?" You smile down at him. "Well, I can't argue with that. Your mommy deserves a brave prince like you to protect her! What character is your Mom?" You ask curiously.
"The Evil Queen." He blurts out and your face drops.
"Henry!" You protest, scolding him for his insult to his mother.
"It's okay, Ivy." You hear the familiar husky voice urge from behind you. Regina suddenly stomps in to the room and gathers up Henry's things. You stand there in shock. "He's been keeping with this 'Evil Queen' character for months. Nothing I do will change his mind. Isn't that right, Henry?" Regina asks, seemingly unfazed by the comment.
"I'm sorry, Mom." He pouts. "You're not evil anymore."
"Henry? I think it's time to go now, don't you think?" Regina ignores his apology and seemingly everything else in the room.
As much as she acts unfazed, you can see her inner panic is rising.
"Regina, I really don't think he mean-."
"It's okay." She interrupts as she ushers her son toward the door.
She smiles but it's that polite, fake smile you've come to detest.
You give in, nonetheless.
The door closes behind you and you glare at your family across the room.
"What?" Emma protests, her mouth full of food. "We didn't say anything!"
"Exactly!" You roll your eyes at them. "I mean, come on, guys. You may not like the woman for some reason but that doesn't mean you can let Henry talk about her that way. She's his mother!" You're shocked by your family's lack of involvement.
They're usually the first people to help anyone.
"I'm his mother, too!" Emma protests.
"Then act like it!" You storm off out the door, furious at your family.
If they want to involved in Henry's life, why couldn't they at least be nice to Regina?
I mean, she's not that hard to get along with, right?
