"What are you gonna wear?" You call into the en-suite that Regina is checking her make up in.
"Nothing special, dear." She responds casually, a slight pause occurs. "Or did you mean after this dinner?" You catch her smirk as you turn to see her strut out of the bathroom looking rather pleased with herself.
She's sporting a sexy black negligee, her make up and hair done to perfection.
"Oh, well now that you mention it-" you begin with a grin as Regina stalks toward you, landing on your lap with the both of you chuckling like love-sick teenagers. "Maybe I'll have dessert before dinner." You tip both of you back onto the bed, she tips her head back and laughs. You immediately dive into the exposed skin and pepper kisses along the tender spots, sending Regina squirming away underneath you.
"Ivy!" She protests weakly, pushing you away with both hands on your shoulders, a big grin covering both of your faces. You prop yourself up, looking down on her as her manicured fingers caress your, already clothed, body. "As much as I'd love to entertain your request, your parents will be here any second."
"What a cock block." You mutter under your breath.
"Excuse me?" Regina frowns intensely at you.
"You've never heard that have you?" You smirk at her.
"Don't say it like that. I'm not old." She rolls her eyes with a playful smile.
"No. You're not. You're perfect." You grab her chin softly and kiss her.
"My lipstick." She fights from your grasp.
"Oh, it's nice to know how much you love me." You sarcastically quip.
The brunette checks her immaculate lipstick in the mirror before turning her attention back.
"Well if someone hadn't invited their parent's over for dinner, I'd be showing you just how much I love you, right now." She smirks down at you and you can't help but groan at her teasing.
"You are gonna be the death of me, woman."
She struts confidently over to the wardrobe and pulls out two dresses.
One purple.
One red.
"Choose." Regina waits.
You love her little ways of showing you how much she cares about you, the old Regina would never allow anyone else's opinion... god, Regina now probably wouldn't allow it. But yours, however, she would.
"Red."
She nods definitively before stripping away her layers, leaving you gawking at her figure.
"Close your mouth, dear." The naked brunette quips as she wriggles into her dress.
"I'm so lucky." You muse as you get up to stand behind her in the mirror, admiring her from over her shoulder.
"I take it you like your choice?" She raises an eyebrow at you playfully.
"The dress or the girlfriend?" You tease. Though not without a sharp elbow to the stomach. "Hey! Either way I chose well."
"Are we telling your parents? About us." Regina turns to face you, her hands nervously straightening out your blouse.
You grab them and pull them to your sides, holding them gently.
"We will do whatever you're comfortable with... they kinda know already."
"Exactly what do they know?"
"They know we went on a date, obviously. And that I've been here pretty much every second since. I'm sure they've guessed, Regina."
"I don't want to disappoint you." She murmurs.
"Regina, why would you think you could ever disappoint me?" You bend to reach her eyes which have dropped slightly.
"I'm trying to be good. I really am. I just don't know what's gonna happen tonight. I don't want to disappoint you."
"Hey," you lift one of her hands and kiss it tenderly, provoking her eyes to meet yours once again. "You're doing so well. I'm so proud of you, honestly. Whatever happens I will be right there with you. I've got your back, no matter what."
The doorbell echos throughout the house right at the moment and the both of you stiffen.
"You won't ever disappoint me." You say before giving her a final kiss and leading her down the stairs.
"Is it too late to cancel? I've got to keep the Evil Queen at bay." Regina moans like a child and you actually find it really cute.
"Hey, you keep the Evil Queen at bay for a couple hours and I promise you she can come out to play as much as she wants, tonight."
"You've got yourself a deal, Miss Swan."Regina smirks before swinging the front door open with a false smile.
"Regina!" Mary-Margaret cheerfully announces.
You notice Regina tense slightly so you subtly wrap your arm around her waist.
It doesn't go unnoticed by anyone.
"Oh, Ivy!" Your mother immediately engulfs you in a hug, leaving your father and Regina to exchange awkward half-smiles.
"Dad." You greet him with a big smile and a hug.
"Come in." Regina smiles warmly. "Dinner will be prepared soon and you may leave your coat's here."
The regal mayor has stepped in for the evening, clearly.
"Would you like a drink? Regina's apple cider is the best."
"Uh-" your father stutters.
"That sounds lovely, thank you." MM interrupts him and he nods along.
"Sure, thanks." He agrees.
"Okay, well, make yourselves at home." Regina adds before you both strut off to the kitchen."See? Not so bad."
"It's been 2 minutes, dear." Regina quips with a pursed lip, pouring the apple cider's.
"Hey, if it makes you feel any better... if you have to, I fully support you going full Evil Queen on them." You kiss her cheek, grabbing the glasses for your parents.
"Full?" She teases.
"Well- maybe not full." You wink back at her before you enter the living room."Thank you, sweetheart." Your mother smiles. "Regina, I must say, your home is so beautiful."
"Oh, thank you." Regina passes you her apple cider and sits next to you on the opposite couch to your parents. "Aside from Henry, it really is my pride and joy."
"Now we know why you spend so much time here." Your dad jokes toward you.
"Oh, it's not that. You know I love your loft just as much."
"May I ask what it is, then?" MM tentatively asks.
Regina straightens in her seat, her walls up already.
"Well, I suppose it's better to get it out the way now." You swallow. "Regina is my girlfriend."
"What?" Your father blurts out before blushing slightly and shaking it off.
"As you know, we went on a date before... and obviously in the Enchanted Forest you heard what Regina said."
"I suppose we should have known." MM looks shocked, still. "I just never assumed this would happen."
"Because it's me." Regina deadpans.
"Yes." MM says as if it's a fact, though no malice behind it. Regina scoffs regardless. "Despite our differences in the past, Regina, I never saw you falling in love. Let alone with our daughter... I guess it's very fitting."
"Fitting?" You all question her at once.
"Yes. Think about it." MM relaxes into her seat. "The two sides at battle, fighting for years, only to be broken by the one thing that can save them; true love."
Regina rolls her eyes and you honestly have to stifle your own. She had a point but man did she always manage to make it sound cheesy.
"We're happy for you, Ivy." Your father smiles back at you, though the way he shifts in his seat tells you differently.
You honestly don't quite believe them yet but the fact they're trying is enough for you.
"Thank you. I've never been happier." You scoot closer to Regina, feeling her relax into your physical touch.
Both your parent's look to Regina, as if she's about to say the same. She falters, squirming in her seat slightly, she's not quite used to showing her emotions yet, let alone around the Charming's. She clears throat and shifts.
"Yes. I'm coming to understand all the nonsense you drowned on about for all those years in regards to true love." Regina let's out a tight smile before changing the subject. "I better get to preparing the lasagne."
That's the best she can do for a compliment for now.
And it's good enough for you.
