His theory is now decreasing in accuracy , his doubts gone wild eroding and shredding every bit of sanity that's left in his brain
He went to the deposits and got back his possessions which included his watch , belt , phone with an empty battery , his shoes and a wallet with a 20 inside
He was about to walk out the prison's internal gate , planning to catch a cab to his home to surprise his mother , when suddenly an old man in a black neat suit came in and stood in front of him blocking the exit , he had three other black suited men with black sunglasses around him , this only meant that it's one of the big respected men of the city whoever he is ,
Roy was perplexed , "can I help you , sir ? " he asked timidly with a question mark drew clear on his face ,
" no , I just wanted to make sure " said the old man taking off his hat and sunglasses and grinning at Roy
But Roy still didn't recognize the old man's face even after he took off what hid most of it , " make sure of what ? , sir " asked Roy
"last night I had a dream about you young man " he explained , just as Roy heard that , a strike of lightning hit him speechless , and a shiver traveled hastily on his spine ,
" it was crystal clear , I dreamt of your whole name and the exact features of yours , and the exact case you're involved in … In that dream I've been told that you're innocent , so when I woke up I was curious to check out if any of my dream was real , I searched for your case and there it was ! , your name and the way you look precisely matched the ones in my dream ! ,
I held a meeting with the other supreme court members and the strange thing was … all of them had had the same dream I had at the same time ! which is considered quite a rare thing to occur ! .. 12 people can't just have the exact detailed dream just by a coincidence ! , so all the judges have came to a decision and agreed to discharge you of all felonies you were convicted with and set you free…" , explained the judge while Roy stood there wordless and mind blown staring at him quite foolishly ,
" aren’t you going to say anything ?" bursted the judge with a feeble laugh after a while of silence , " you are a free man ! and you were sentenced for 10 years ! "
But Roy was too stunned to reply , " thank you " he whispered eventually , the judge paused for a moment puzzled for he thought he would hear more from him , thence he smiled innocently and put on his old fashioned hat back , and said " you are welcome … you are welcome , my boy " , turned around and walked out to his black shiny car with the rest of the agents .
Roy staggered hopelessly out of the main external gate with no words or thoughts to express his feelings, his theory now has the accuracy of zero , it was only hanging by a thread of existence , ready to be demolished at any second by any other slight clue or doubt .
He got into a cab and the looks of a ghost was appearing on his face , he kept convincing himself desperately that these 12 exact dreams for 12 different people were just a lousy , unpleasant coincidence , but alas ! it's like 12 lightings striking at the same spot at the same time , he covered his forehead with his hand and closed his eyes in deep frustration , his despondent look was not to be hidden though from the meddlesome glances of the driver through to mirror , for people usually would be happy to get out of jail !
Roy was sitting askew with one arm spread on the top of the cab's couch , he was looking through the window to a part of his town he had never seen before trying to ignore the ideas which kept spinning and floundering through his mind that seemed to languish into a splitting headache , streets passed , faces , buildings as well , like the new Alpha building which was built by a foreign architect to add another piece of elegance to garnish the demolished wreck ,that was caused by the occupier , he lives in .
