chapter 2 : the beginning of a great fall to glory

" everything seemed to be as typical as ever , nothing has changed , the same smoke , the same hustle and bustle , the same people , I mean ..What else would it be ? the world is changing every day that change became a constant , so you wouldn't notice a thing even though the wheel of life is speeding up the cliff ". thought Roy as he seemed a little bit off this morning ,

Fifteen minutes earlier , he had knocked a hole in Klaus's door , trying to wake him up for they used to go together to the same eight o'clock lecture .

Wondered on the road , Roy has , for he knows that Klaus wakes up early every day , not because he's an early bird , but because he has sleeping troubles especially at dawn time , and that he substitutes these lost hours of sleep with a nap after he returns to his home after they hang out , he always say that at dawn time nightmares increase , or something like that ...

"Could he be dead??" he wondered, " he'd be furious if not ! , he doesn't like to walk into a class late or to be expelled for being late ,

Roy got Klaus's personality figured out , though everything seemed obscure when it came to Klaus's family , they were always a mystery and Klaus kept on avoiding them in every conversation , across the nine years of friendship , Roy only knew their names ..

He waited in the class , at almost the last row he sat , he was the first to arrive and was completely unaware that his clock was one hour late , so instead of arriving at eight o'clock he arrived at seven , and to think it was bizarre to see the bus station almost empty !

" but still , Klaus would have answered ! " thought Roy ,

Time passed , the class room slowly began to be crowded , while he sips f a cup of coffee , strong black with no sugar , half an hour later , someone strongly slapped Roy's neck from behind , what the heck are you doing so early ?" asked Klaus "

" Hey , were you dead at 6:30 this morning ? " asked Roy foolishly

" Why yes ! " he mockingly answered , " but sadly I lived again for this sh*t " he added sending his sight across the class room

" I knocked your door so hard I think my hand started bleeding ! why didn't you answer !? " shouted Roy

"I was sleeping I guess "

"since when do you sleep at dawn ?" asked Roy

" since when do you wake up at 6 :30 !" he replied

"my clock was almost an hour late and... just .. never mind "

" ah , for the first time since... for ever , I slept at dawn , I didn't have any nightmares what so ever ! " explained Klaus calmly and cheerfully

" yea ? and what did you dream about instead ?"

"well , at first I dreamt about the slap I just gave you , which is quite ordinary , I slap you many times each day "

" ok , then what did you dream of ? " asked Roy by the time the professor walked in holding some papers along with the material's book under his arm

" I'll show you ,just wait a sec .. " replied Klaus

The professor puts his papers on the stand , adjusts the microphone and spreads his sight arrogantly across the huge room after wearing his glasses and before he opens the book of history , flips through to find the page he wanted and then starts reading for a moment and explaining some points in another, while everyone else sleeps or plays candy crush from underneath their chairs , while others doodle on their books or enjoy talking to each other or texting .

So as the professor was taking about how the almighty king , the first king , had a deep vision of what should or should not be done , and he was with any solution that ensures his people's rights and protects them , he approves on the blue book of peace that had been sent by the conqueror's international sponsor , the year of 1932 that concludes the establishment of an independent zone in the disputed country , that is shared between the natives and the new occupier ( that had been opressing against the natives since it's arrival ) and to set up a limited emigration process within 60 thousand people in the first five years of the oppressor's entity's existence .

So with the almighty king's knowledge that the people cannot resist the occupier's plans that were funded and sponsored by other strong undefeatable countries

And when the professor was about to continue his boring lesson that everyone found rather depressing , Klaus raised his hand for the first time ,

" yes ? what's your name ? " asked the professor

" yea .. Klaus , i don't understand " he replied

"What didn't you exactly understand ? "

" the reason the first king did that for "

" the reason ? " asked the professor looking rather puzzled

"why did the first king approve on such agreement ? " asked Klaus while everyone including the professor was amazed that someone was actually paying attention , they all stopped what they were doing and listened to this conversation attentively

" well , as I said " explained the professor while returning hastly to the previous page and reading : " the people could not stand against the ..."

" that's not what you say , its what the book says , you've been almost reading it to us and implicitly approving , in my opinion , what the king did is just stupid " interrupted Klaus

" watch your mouth young man ! " shouted the professor angrily

" come on he's a human isn't he ? all humans make mistakes , so we've been sending the occupier's sponsors agreements all along and all of them had been rejected , but when they send us their first , we rush and approve on it ! , as if it's a great thing that we've been promoted to a bunch of people who can 'approve' on anything ! "

' this is your last warning .." said the professor in suppressed fury

" let me finish first then you could kick me out , ok ? " interrupted Klaus again , " so you said the first king had some kind of a deep vision into the future and what not , didn't he see what would happen if he lets the first 60 thousand establish their virus colony in the heart of our land ! ? didn't he think that the occupiers were planning for much more when they sent us the blue book of ''peace'' ? didn't he estimate that ? or the fact that the occupiers are like cancer cells , if he lets some in they will erode through, consuming our land slowly as they expand ? wasn't fighting back a bitter best solution than surrendering ? Why give the occupier the first chance to form it's invincible supported empire ? now find answers to THESE questions in that book of yours " said Klaus packing his bag at the last sentence and getting up " if you ask me , history makes absolutely no sense when read from college and school books ... and I just wonder why " he added before showing himself the way out of the class room leaving the professor quite startled and speechless .. while students were smiling suppressing laughs and looking at each other ..

Klaus hated the 'occupiers ' even though most natives surrendered to, and adapted with the situation to the degree that some of them even found it as a good idea to develop the country , Klaus always wished that some day they would perish or leave his land before they also overpower his district .

After the lecture , Roy get's out to see Klaus sitting on one of the lobby windows , smoking , like he didn't just get expelled or failed at the entire material , in fact he looked pleased that he said what he said ,

" annnnnd the Oscar goes to .. Klaus Farroooow or some alien who abducted my friend's body and made him say all that smart stuff !!" shouted Roy happily while being puzzled and sarcastic

" shut up " replied Klaus with a grin

" all of this was a dream ? ! "

" no , I just dreamt that I stood for myself and my opinion , the speech i just.. invented"

" wait ... are you secretly a nerd ?" asked Roy sarcastically , "I swear to god I wanted to pick up my phone and take a picture of that poor fellow's face ! " he said after a calm evil laugh. " it's about time someone did that ! " he added

As they pass by the other students who were in the same lecture ,they seemed to smile at Klaus and to give him thumbs up while others whispered while looking at him " first fun ever had in this class " , "good job, man " , " nice speech, man " and other encouragements were said to him that made Klaus more enthusiastic about the idea of breaking the silence barrier and doing more crazy stupid things , one of these encouragements was when the girl he has always liked , smiled at him then kept on walking , this simple meaningless gesture made him take a decision of keeping on with " dream making " project ...

But things soon started to get tougher and more dangerous...
