"it was a narrow store , a lot of decorated dream catchers were hung on the dark brown wooden wall in various sizes , the place was also loaded with antiques , china and pottery in a kind of messy way ,
Roy and Ed opined their time looking around for a while because the salesclerk wasn't behind the long wooden counter .
"can I help you gentlemen ?" came a deep warm voice a while after to startle Roy and Ed ,
He was an old man with a white beard and hair , and an innocent sweet smile , he wore thick glasses that made his eyes look larger and dressed in a bicolor shirt of green and white , he was holding a box of antiques and coming from a stairway at the back ,
" sorry , I was just getting some things from the basement , I hope I didn't take too long , so .. what can I do for you ?? " he asked smiling
"um , I ... need a dream catcher "
" well , into art , are you ?"
" nno , not really ... I'll just have that one " said Roy pointing at a small affordable dream catcher on the wall ,
"not into art ?? so what do you need it for ? " he said sarcastically being a little nosy
" I've been having bad dreams , you know horrible dreams "
"and you think a ' dream catcher ' is the solution ? " he chuckled
" I don't see why this is any of your concern , sir "
" no really ... do you believe in dream catchers , boy ? "
" well ... I'm in a stage where I have no other options left "
The sarcastic grin upon the salesclerk faded
"then you don't need this one , or any of these " he said firmly sending his sight along the big wall , " come with me , Roy "
The old man went on the narrow old squeaky stairs up to the attic , and both followed in cautiousness
" how did he know my name ?" whispered Roy to Ed on their way
" so .. how bad are your dreams ? " asked the salesclerk sending his sight upon the attic walls that held more than 200 breathtaking dream catchers in all types , colors and sizes , they were more intricate and sort of terrifying than the ones downstairs , Roy and Ed were heavy breathing as they gazed truly dazzled at the scenery , walking slowly across the room ,the place was strangely warm
" did you make all these by yourself ? " asked Ed
" I've spent almost my entire life trying to mimic the ones I collected over the years " he replied looking at seven dream catchers rested on a stand at the back of the attic , " but these are... just different , they were never made , just .... Found !, I thought the secret of their magic is their geometry , but I've made all types of intricate arrangements but nothing was close to them "
" why what's so different about them ?" asked Roy
" feel the threads .. "
Roy reached for the threads of one of them and there it was again ... heat .. like they were soaked in them , he was speechless and the look on his face said that he had experienced this odd phenomenon somewhere else
" what's with the heat ?"
" I .... I don't know yet , its.. a flow of pure energy , an unexplained constant source of heat , the thing so special about these is that they actually work! I've had dozens of nightmares when I was your age , when I found the first one , they no longer came ... "
