Into the maze

Chapter six

-Newt and Thomas-
"What's up Tommy?" Newt asked. Unsure how to start thomas stutters. He keeps replaying his promise that he made to you in head "don't worry it stays between us." His words haunted him. He knew he should tell newt, the two of you can't handle this on your own. He was forced to make a difficult decision, go behind your back and get help or try to figure it out himself and lie to newt. "Have you seen Cleo and Minho, they've been in the maze for a while?" Thomas asked. Deciding to keep it between you and him to stick to the promise he made. "Actually I haven't. They've been gone a while. Should we tell Alby?" Newt asked. Thomas was shocked. We're they still not back. "How long have they been gone" Thomas asked. "All day the gate will be closing soon. They rushed to alby Thomas still in shock. He had made it up he didn't think they we're actually missing.

The whole glade turned to panic mode. "Nobody's ever survived a night in the glade" Newt said nervously. "THERE THEY ARE" Ben shouted. "Wait Who's that is that Angel" Thomas said. The three of them make there way back to the maze just in time before the doors close. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING" newt shouted at Angel. "We were just with you how did you even. You know what I don't want to know Angel that was stupid. You're not even a runner." Newt said. "Hey go easy on her" Minoh said. "Why." He turned to Angel. "What happened" he asked. She pulled her sleeve up and reviled a sting mark. "NO Angel I.." newt walked away. You ran after him. "NEWT HEY WAIT UP" you shouted. He didn't respond he didn't even turn around. "NEWT" he stopped. You ran over to him. "What does this mean. What happens when your stung" you asked. "You..." newt started to reply but couldn't finish his sentence. You spot tears in his eyes. "It'll be ok Newt. I promise" you wrap your arms around him and he clings onto you.

-Thomas and Angel-
"Well Ang what happened?" Thomas asked. "She saved me" Cleo said. "A griever was coming at me and Minoh. Next thing we know Angel runs into the maze. A none runner can I add and she saved me." Cleo explained. "Why didn't you tell newt" Ben asked. "He would've taken it out on them. I couldn't let that happen" Cleo said. Thomas grabbed her arm to look at the sting Mark. "Come on Ang. Let's get you to Courtney" Elsie said.

-the doctor tent-
"Pretty nasty sting there you got there Angel" Courtney said. She took Angels arm. "I hate to be the one to tell you Angel but the infection is spreading faster than I have ever seen. It's got into your veins. I'm not sure how long you have till you change." Courtney said with tears in her eyes. "I'll um go get newt" Courtney said hiding her tears as she left the tent. "Pretty brave of you Ang I have to give it to you." Thomas smiled. "Oh shut up Thomas." Angel teased. "You know you never told me what it was like for you on your first day." Thomas said. "Rough. Me and newt didn't know we were brother and sister. I was entirely alone. But When I found out he was my older brother. I felt a sense of home." Angel smiled. Thomas wiped a tear from her cheek. "Are you ok" Newt said as he ran into the tent. "I'm fine Newt". "Can you sit up" newt asked. He helped her sit up while you stood with Thomas. "Thomas what happens when your stung". You ask hoping you'll get an answer. He whispers in your ear "you have to be banished. There's no saving anyone who's been stung. They will kill you the first chance they get." He explained. Your heart shattered knowing that newts going to loose his sister. You walked over to him and patted his back. "Could I speak with Angel... Alone. I won't be long" you asked. "Yeah sure" newt and Thomas said in unison. They left the tent leaving you and Angel.

"Please no sympathy I'm tired of sympathy" Angel pleaded. "Are you ok" she noticed a cut on your cheek. "Oh yeah. I scratched myself when I was sleeping." You explained. "What?" She said with concern. "Oh I move in my sleep anyway. How are you feeling" you said trying to change the topic. "In pain but don't tell Newt I'm trying to not worry him". She said. "Um y/n your cut is bleeding." She told you. "Oh yeah I must have caught it. Thanks" a drop of blood fell of your face and landed on Angels arm where she was stung. "Oh my god I'm so sorry." You said trying to get the blood out of her sting Mark. She put her hand on yours  "hon don't worry. I've dealt with worse besides it's only blood what harm can it do to me. I'm already dying." She said with no emotion. You were confused. Why wasn't she sad about dying. It was almost like she wanted to die. "I don't want to die if that's what your thinking. But the idea of death has never bothered me much. I decided to live life focusing on living instead of what happens when I die." She explain. You both smile when newt walks back in. "Can I talk to her now Y/n." Newt asked trying to remind you that she hasn't got much time left. "Yeah sorry. I'll see you Angel" you both waved and you walked out.
