❝Beauty isn't about looking your best, but feeling comfortable in your own skin.❞
HARLOW AND I arrived at a large white building, most likely where I would be getting a "massive makeover." Sure- I wanted too, I just didn't want to look like a different person.
"Well, we're here. Want to go inside?"
"Yeah, let's go." I agreed. The sun beamed on our faces as we walked over a bridge covering a small body of water. It was so fancy- there's no way I fit in. We reached the entrance, and Harlow knocked upon a huge door.
"Hello, my name is Vera, you must be Francesca!" Said a tall woman with bright blond hair who opened the door.
"Yes, that's me." I said.
"Right this way." She said leading us inside through a hallway that seemed never-ending, with tall chandeliers hanging from the ceiling."Francesca," she started. "This will be your dressing room."
"Perfect."
"Alright." Said Harlow. "I have to get going, I will be back soon to pick you up." She said as she walked out the door. Now, it was just me in this oversized powder room.About five minutes went by, and I was still waiting. I was starting to worry- would anybody come? Was I forgotten? Just as I was about to get up, a few people came through the door- and not just any people.
"Hello, Francesca!" Said one lady with bright pink hair who was wearing too much makeup. Alongside her, there were a few other different looking people. Some had crazy hair, and were wearing extravagant outfits; the colors were almost blinding.
"Hello, you must be doing my makeup." I said.
"Oh yes, and much more that your makeup!" She said- that scared me a bit.Her crew went around the large room, grabbing supplies from every which way. The lady whose name happened to be Elenora, guided me to a powder room so I could change. She handed me a super soft velvet robe, and I undressed and put it on.
As I walked out of the powder room, I could see the makeover was going to be a bit more than I interpreted. Wax strips lay side by side on a table, makeup pallets, and many makeup brushes.
"Are you ready?" Asked Vera.
"Y-yeah." I said nodding my head.
"Perfect. Take a seat right over here darling." She said leading me to a big reclined chair. Was I scared? No. Was I worried? Yes. What are they going to do to me?"Let's get started." Said a woman with bubblegum pink hair, leaning over me to meet my eyes."
"Okay." I said quietly.Wax strips were ripped off my legs as I laid on the chair, now reclined farther. I just wished this part would be over- the painful part; the waxing, the plucking.
"Beautiful!" Said Vera waking in the room, examining me. "Let's get started on hair and makeup." This part wouldn't be so bad- right? I now sat up in the chair, a few people surrounding me, holding makeup brushes to my face. I wasn't used to this kind of pampering- I barely even wore any makeup.

I was finally able to open my eyes without the risk of being poked in the eye with a makeup brush. Now it was time for hair. A large mirror was brought over and placed in front of me, and I really did look stunning. I never thought I would say something like that about myself- but I really felt that way for the first time in a long time.
"Like what you see?" Asked Vera.
"Yeah- I actually really like it."
"Great. That's what we're here for." She smiled. My hair was left down in curls and pulled together in the back in a braid. A silver hair clip was placed in the middle of the braid, and it was finished. I admired the way my makeup went together with my hair, with curls falling down my back.
"Francesca?" Said someone from behind me. It was Harlow. "Oh my! You look amazing!"
"Thank you, Harlow."
"Anytime. So, are you read to pick out your dress?"
"Yes, of course." I said.
